I can appreciate his frustration that his request of Soooze was edited, especially as she has answered it! Meanwhile, certain topics that were once interesting have been rendered unreadable and unpostable because of the Ninny brigade's multifarious outpourings of twaddle that goes unchecked.

Can we not try deleting the latter, rather than even shifting it? If we can do it to spam on our own computers, perhaps it's time we acted before this forum comes apart.

It's been fun, informative and sometimes compelling reading-and that's just YOUR posts, A_L, so I hope you'll at least look at this & there'll hopefully be a few others will join me in saying come back. mate.

Steve, there's an old saying that you should always be careful what you wish for. You started this thread, and now look what's happened!

Seriously folks, absence really does make the heart grow fonder, and I reached the point where I was missing you all so much I had to sneak a look. Once in I knew I had to come back.

To Steve, Soooze and Mimi who gave me support and encouragement in this thread, to Nero, who wished me Xmas greetings elsewhere, and indeed to all of you, Forum habitués and Forum management, a somewhat belated very happy new year!

To the Management of this estimable Forum I offer my apologies for the rather blunt comment regarding editing that I made on my departure. I have looked carefully through my posts that were edited and the penny finally dropped. The partial editing could certainly have been expunging material which could conceivably be taken to be in bad taste and I think I also see the reason it was necessary to delete the complete post.

I'm pleased to find so much varied action in the Forum, and at least one very promising newcomer, Ryan Scott. I can't even find anything to disagree with in what he's posted so far, but there's plenty of time ahead!

In proffering my apologies and thanks in the post above I carelessly omitted to apologise to Molly and Dolly. I fear that it may have been me who caused such anguish to sweet Molly concerning the member resignations - the date certainly fitted. To those estimable and hardworking ladies I can only say that I'm very sorry and I'll try not to do it again. I hope that they can find it in their hearts to forgive me.

I was going to put a link direct to the post concerned, but sadly as the new year has come in the briefly superb Network54 search engine seems to have gone out, and resumed its old wayward habits. I hope it is only temporary, it was so convenient to be able to link to individual posts rather than lengthy threads!
