...and to you Ketta. However, we must be careful, as a certain other forum on this network has now been taken down with the following comment:
Network54 does not allow forums that contain or contain links to nudity, sex, pornography, illegal activities, unauthorized use or distribution of copyrighted material(s) (including 'warez' boards), mail fraud and pyramid schemes, hatred and racism of any kind, guns or firearms, or any other material that may be deemed libelous or offensive to another individual or organization.

Hi Ketta-happy 2009!
On a completely different subject, hope you possess a copy of Tales From The Riverbank-at least the first book(1965-67)!! I've had mine for a few months now & found it great.
As for your request-3 new posts await yours and all other Forumites delectations.

I've already wished everyone a very happy new year elsewhere, but to Ketta espcially, a longstanding stalwart of this estimable Forum, I'll repeat it here. I also hope I've done my bit for new posts tonight - relief at being back I think!
The loss of the 'other' Network54 CP forum mentioned by Falling Star is a sad one. I personally didn't find it a place I visited very often, and I've made my fair share of disparaging remarks about it here. All the same it behoves minorities to stand together when the going gets rough. I know that the owner of that forum visits here sometimes, and I'd like to extend my commiserations to him. I'd also like to suggest that if he restarts it he takes note of the policies of the Forum Management here and if necessary curbs his more lunatic elements before they spoil the fun for everyone else.

Well said A_L. Like you, I didn't care for it too much, particularly when it became simply a forum for what, to me at least, seemed to be silly clips, many of them of very poor quality.
However, I am suspicious that representations may have been made to the site's owners by the anti-spank brigade, who appear to be becoming more powerful by the day. (Consider the amount of material which has been removed from you tube in recent times for example).
It's not the regular members who concern me, it's the occasional troll. I contributed to another website unconnected with CP, where a troll appeared and stirred up a whole load of trouble. The end result was that the site was closed. Some time later, it transpired that the troll had been set up to cause trouble and have the site closed down.
So be aware, please don't feed the occasional trolls who inhabit these forums. If we leave them alone, they'll go away.

A very valid point, Falling Star. I freely admit that I'm not very good at troll detection, and I have the additional disadvantage that my instincts incline me to march towards rather than away from the sound of the gunfire, so I tend to get in there and pitch if a contentious issue arises. Should you, or indeed anyone else note me feeding any trolls please don't hesitate to give me a hint!

Tales from the River Bank

Steve
I have my own interesting Tales of the River Bank, if anyone here from St Pauls circa 1966 might recall the aftermath, explaining to Howarth the Head, how certain schoolgirls, came to be wearing certain boys string vests, nylon shorts and nought else.
As the Jam sang:-
True it's a dream mixed with nostalgia
But it's a dream that I'll always hang on to
That I'll always run to
Won't you join me by the riverbank
