Steve,
A big thank you for your research into bacons. Anyone with an interest in the subject has heard all about the reputation of the caning girls there, but there has never been any sort of report or explanation of methods until you came up with the results of your research. But your research does raise other questions.
If boys were caned, how were they caned ?
Alison Hemmings says she was caned six times at Bacons, twice by Mr Ing, twice by Drac, and once each time by Miss Davenport and Miss Paige, and even the slipper off some unknown. As you have had contact with 9 ex girls, do you know anything about the method of caning by Drac, Davenport and Paige. ? Did they also adjust the girls knickers ? Did it become normal practice that all girls that were caned were subject to the adjustment of their knickers ? Hope you are able to shed some light on the points raised.

Sorry I can't breach confidentiality with "my" girls.

I can tell you all other caners bar Mr Ing caned on the hands, boys or girls. He was the only one authorised to cane on the bottom, according to the teacher who left in 1975 I spoke to back in January/February.

I've no idea about the slipper, but, from what else went on there, the slipperings were always in private with just the teacher present, so I doubt any clothing adjustments were made.

As Ing virtually tricked the victims into signing that they'd consented to what he'd done & Miss Davenport had witnessed etc, I'd be staggered if anyone else acting alone would have tried the adjustments routine. They would have laid themselves open to sexual or indecent assault charges otherwise.

I still haven't spoken to a boy caned by Ing. It seems incredible, but every time someone glowered back at him, he backed down with the boys & suspended them for 2 or 3 days.

I've not spoken to enough boys to know for sure this was always the case, but it seems Ing perceived girls as the biggest threat to discipline in his school from at least 1970 onwards. Whether he was suffering from something worse than diabetes, was a genuine misogynist, an old perve, a mixture of these, or something else entirely, I really can't say.

And that is simply because I don't know. I never met him, and have never even seen a photo of him, so I try(sometimes with a bloody great deal of difficulty!) not to be judgemental, especially as he's been dead for 25 years-I was always taught not to be disrepectful towards the dead and I try to adhere to that.

Just a teeny little complaint!

Can I please ask willyeckaslike why he couldn't have posted his query in Steve's existing 'Wilfred Ing-the truth' thread to be found here?

He has obviously read that thread and starting a new thread merely fragments this estimable Forum and makes things very difficult for those of us (well, me anyway happy.gif) who like to keep track of the information here so that it can readily be cross referenced when this is pertinent to posts.

Rant over! A personal hello to willyeckaslike and I hope that we shall here more from him. If he's found his way here he's almost certainly got a story to tell.

sorry AL, it was my first post and I was not sure how things worked. but PLEASE don't send me to Mr Ing. It was not my intention to start a new file. As steve has replied to my questions, is there someone that can either add this to the original Ing file, or delete this file as it now has no relevence.
