A news reporter does an uncomplimentary piece on firefighters insinuating that they are lazy and uncaring. I remember that there is a scene where Johnny is filmed telling the reporter and his cameraman to back off. Because of the report the department invites the reporter on a ride-along, assigning him to Station 51 A-shift. Over the course of his observation he comes to realize just how hard-working and brave firefighters are and does another report, retracting his previous statements.
Things I remember:
-huge freeway accident which rattles the reporter
-Johnny almost having a car fall in on him while rescuing somebody
-a huge fire at a warehouse (I think) where the reporter actually yells at another reporter for filming
