Looks like it will hit 14.5-15.0 to 200 up here.

Here's E55 & RS6 Plus. E55 is almost 2 SECONDS slower than M5 to 200! What happened to the 700NM?

Wow! I guess I was right about horsepower & gearing vs torque. M5 matches the 450kw, 1000NM CL65 to 200!

What important is the 80-180 km/h rolling runs starting in 4th gear I know the CL65 has traction issues, but 80km/h in 4th shouldn't be a problem. Guess what? The NA Ferrari of similar weight is quicker all the way to 180. In fact, the Ferrai is qucker on EVERY SINGLE ROLLING RUN!

Hey Teasers-killer. You don't have anything to worry about. The E55's have to run & hide.

guys, excuse my ignorance but why do we still compare the current RS6 and E55 to the NEW M5??

wouldnt it be a better comparison to see what Audi and Merc bring out in their new top of the range speedster?

im sure the new RS6 & new E55 will be made to at least match the M5 performance?

i know that there isnt any new RS6 and E55 to compare to the New M5 but i was just wondering if all the new articles in the papers and mags are gonna be comparing the new M5 to the current RS and E55 coz that doesnt seem like a fair test to me.

any comments.......
I8 and RS6King...please dont drill me for being not so clued up about the big boys toys ...im trying to learn more as we go along

Well it wasn't very fair when the RS6 & E55 were compared to the old M5 were they?

But to answer your question, Audi has quit the power race. The next RS4 is NA. There is conjecture about the next RS6, but Audi say it will not have more power than its opponents. They are concentrating on dynamics, etc.

Merc have cancelled supercharging. The E55 successor is the E63. Has 370kw & 600NM. 100NM LESS than the E55 it replaces. It weighs 2 tonnes & has less power than the M5. It's going to be a similar story to the C32/C55 where the new car isn't faster than the car it replaces.

So the M5 will be King for a while. Unless you live at altitude where the RS6 should still rule.

thanks I8 for clearing that up for me.

BMW, as we all know, is always used as the benchmark for performance cars, so i guess with regards the old M5 maybe it was a bit unfair to compare the RS6 and the E55 to it.

i guess maybe the RS6 plus was made to take on the new M5?...since audi is quiting the power race.

that then leaves question as to whether the nuvolari and the Audi Le Mans is actually gonna be produced then hey.

i guess we will ahve to wait and see.

no doubt the M5 is fast, and im sure my one buddy has his name down on the list, coz he is as hardcore about bemer as u are I8, and he currently drives the M5.

just to tell u a story, my buddy won a Porsche Ceyenne at Gold Reef casino, so i thought it was wikked...he said its a peice of CR@P and that he would rather have an X5(which he did have previously as well)...so now he said he is gonna trade the cheyenne in as soon as he can get the new M5.....so i guess he is seriously hard core about beemer hey.

anyways, nto sure why i told u that, but i tild u anyways....ha ha

cheers for now.

RS6 Plus was tested in the article above.

Article on Audi's future:

http://www.carbc.com/Car-News-893.html

Now seeing as there are no turbos in the current A6 or A3 range, the S3 went from turbo to 3.2 V6 NA, the S4 went from turbo to 4.2 V8 NA & the RS4 went from turbo to NA, it leads me to believe that Audi are moving away from turbos. I could be wrong but the evidence points that way.

Why was/is it unfair to compare the RS6 with the present/old M5?
Both those cars is from the same generation and as such is totally comparable. The new M5 is to be compared with the new RS6. when that arrives

No that's not how it works. You walk up to a dealer & buy a new car. Therefore, you compare whatever car is available on the market. You can't compare a car that's available now to one that MAY be released in 2021.

So, yes, it was fair to compare the old M5 to the Rs6 & E55. I have no problem with that. The old M5 got beat fair & square.
