hey there guys.

after some business meetings last night, myself and Nershen decided to go past Westbank raceway to see if any cool races were happening.

to our amazement, the place was jam packed with cars and people.

there were some seriously hotted up cars ranging from VR6 turbo's and vtec turbo's to some really fast datsun's and so forth.

so after a long wait i met up with some buddies of mine that i havent seen in ages.

One oke had a black 2.0FSi with the full sportech kit like mine, only diff was he had 17” 5 star allow wheels.

So the test had to be done down the quater mile about which is faster....
the diesel or the petrol.

Well sadly I have to report that on the first race, I only managed to pull in front him by 2-3 car lengths right till the end, and the second race I only managed about 1.5-2 car lengths ahead in my TDi he he .

So i guess up here, diesel is king(mostly coz of the turbo), while down at the coast will be a totally diff story he he.

Nershen had a brilliant run with his TT against a toyota conquest Twin Cam 16V turbo(K3/K4 hybrid).

off the line the TT was like a bullet.....once the toyota got traction further down the track he just pulled up next to the TT and then ahead of the TT.

needless to say that the boost leak did contribute to the slightly slower TT. but im sure with that fixed and a chip will give the TT some nice extra power.
was a brilliant race though, and an excellent launch off the line by Nersh.

anyways, just thought id give u guys the heads up about what happened there last night and to maybe suggest we use the racetrack for a weekday night in the future if u guys are game for it.

there was no time calculations for the quarter mile, but it was a nice and controlled environment.

any comments are welcome, and any suggestions of where we can do future meets during the week or on weekends that will draw more of the club memebers together will be great.

cheers for now.

Bryce, you're being too kind buddy! That Conquest flew past me when he finally got traction! Boost leak or not, that car was still much quicker than the TT.
Andre, Gert, I'm hoping you guys avenge my defeat next week!

Wesbank seems like a cool place to hold our meetings. There's lots of competition, spectators and most importantly there were lots of babes there! Also a nice controlled environment - no Fast and Furious style getaways when the cops arrive!

Bryce,

Nice to see Diesel can hold it's own I have been wondering about the differance between the two.

Also noted that the Torang (Spelling) Diesel is quicker than the Porche 4X4 (Not gonna bother with the spelling of that thing)

Diesel should be better seeing as it costs more that petrol these days.

Would liked to have been there last night. Next time, let us all know you going.

Cheers.

Crispin

TDI vs FSI

Ja well done Bryce. A couple of months ago I reported a street dice between the FSI and TDI A3's .
Same thing. TDI in front after every robot. Some chop( hope its no-one on the forum) in a silver FSI pulled up alongside me about a month ago with a smirk on his face. Lights went green and he nailed it.. I didnt..
He reg was pretty new, so he must have just gotten it. 2 robots later, and squeezed in next to him. Well needless to say, his smirk fell off his face as quick as I left him behind me..I just thought, you know, its bad enough going against another A3,but to pull up with attitude and obvioulsy thinking that diesel cars are for farmers pissed me off. That boy needed a lesson, and a lesson he got.

I am glad you showed him Diesel is not only for tractors.
