I know it isnt a Audi, but what the heck, its part of the bigger family. I did the factory tour yesterday and stumbled apon the new GTi being built. I fell literally over my feet and was so ogeling over teh car, the tour nearly left me behind. What caught me was the stunning rims - I knew this wasnt normal from what I had seen, so went over to look.
As a VW nut and Audi fan, I am really impressed with Audi build quality and all the stuff you guys know more than do. But looking a lot closer at this car, it struck me that VW with the new Golf range is definately moving fast into luxuary car finish and this Gold was particularly impressive - this aprticular model destined for the New Zealand market ofcourse. So well done VW, really imressive car (IMHO) and was a real privaledge to see the car "live" and not just pics off the net.

Car Magazine UK has a road test of the new GTi in the November issue, they gave it a good writeup. Lets hope the SA spec makes the grade on power equivalence!
