Been meaning to post this for a while but have been too busy :}

What I love about the Audi's are the small touches that they don't mention in the handbook and that you just find out all by yourself ...

What amazes my infantile mind is this:

1) Little leds above each door handle inside the car. Lights up at night so you know where the handle is. cool

2) Light sensitive displays. The radio and anything that is red constantly adjusts to the ambient light outside. Either gets brighter or dimmer

3) Light sensitive odometer. This only happens if there is more ambient light in the front of the car as opposed to the sides. If there is too much light hitting the front of the car, and your car's headlights are not switched on, everything in the odo binnacle lights up, that is the numbers .. even then and even then it this is in relation to how much light is hitting the car from the front. normally happens during sunrise or sunset when the sun is blinding you ... amazing!

Who thinks up stuff like this, thankfully somebody at Audi does!

Audi is an awesome car !

When I was still driving Passat 4-Motion, my merc & bmw buddies, upon their first trip in the Passat, used to comment about how much nicer my “AUDI” is than they expected !
Then I used to help them right by pointing to the badge on the steering !

Now, they just shut-up (and enjoy the ride) when they drive with me...
I see them looking around inside the car... but they keep quiet !

Audi is a classy ride...

There is a cute little feature that I occasionally use that a lot of Audi owners don't know about (I didn't know about it until it was shown to my wife when she picked up her Audi) It is a piece that flaps down above the mirror to stop the Sun shining between the roof and the mirror when it is low down.

Yeah that is cool too. Drove my Jetta around for a year before somebody show that to me Even since I found out about it, it is always down!

The other cool part is the Traffic Recording Feature in the Audi Radio's. If you don't about it, once you program the radio, it records at the last two hours of traffic announcements even though your car is sitting all by it's lonesome self in the parking lot and the radio is 'off', so that when you get into your car and press the TP button, you get to find out where the hotspots are. Not too much use in SA, since only classic FM does reports and then so only in the morning and afternoon, but it helps me a lot at night.

Features that really p!@#@! me off

What really annoys me on my Concert radion is the fact that if the current radio station does not support TP or you are on CD and the radio loses TP reception it starts to beep continuously until you turn off TP. My previous radio, a Philips, used to beep once when ever it changed to a transmitter without TP but not continuously. What were they thinking!

Radio Stations with TP

ClassicFM is the only one in SA as far as I know. Quite why the other stations are not using it I don't know as if you turn on TP while listening to a CD whne you switch back to Radio you will be on a TP station, that is ClassicFM. I would have thought that would be a draw card for any radio station, to be the one that is playing when you change for listening to CDs.

The little "R" infront of the S2 badge.
More seriously, its a combination of little things like the odd no of cyl, the KKK turbo and then there's that lovely torsen quattro system which adds a cherry on the top.
