Hey guys, please shed some light here. On Friday whilst on my way to the Eastern Cape, the orange oil warning sign came on, first I thought this was a malfunction as the car had gone for its 30000Km service about a month and a half ago, now after covering just 6000Km the oil level had reached the minimum level.
I've called both, Audi Westrand (They service the car) and Audi Durban (where I bought my car), and they both seem to think there is nothing wrong with the engine, that it is stated in the owners manual that I may need to refill oil in between service intervals.
Guys, have you experienced any of this, should I be worried. When the car was new, April 2004, I head to top up the oil twice before its first 15000Km service, then I was told it was just a run-in period and this is normal.
I get the feeling that this engine is using too much oil, or that the dealer did not top up oil properly at its last service.

The 1.8T engines can be quite heavy on oil in the first 15000km. I personally used over 1 litre of oil in this time!!!
Glad to report that between my 15000-30000km service interval I didnt add a single drop!
Keep an eye on the level every 2000km until then.

The oil light normally comes on after 4 litres are lost. This is a very high ratio with nearly 800ml of oil used every thousand kilometers. Is there any signs of oil on your exhaust system?
Probability of a doubt has it that there was mix up at the service otherwise I am sure the car would be smoking.
