Yes, they do change the timing belt at 75000km on most 1.8T's. ERM told me 2 days, Sandton did it in one but I had to get it in early. Did a good job too. ERM told me they don't have courtesy cars.

They also told me that it would probably be two days. They have to remove the bumper to change the belt (or that is what I was told)

If they say 2 days, rather let them take their time than rush them to get the job done.

Not really the 2 days that bugs me.. I was thinking after my 60k serive to do something that might void my FWP... ??

And I dont know if the chain need to be changed as 75K if thats such a good idea...

Hi everyone,

Mine was done about 2 months ago and cost R2800 fir the whole thing under FWP. Mine only took 1 day, had to have it there at 7:30 the morning and they were finished at about 16:00.

I'd say you HAVE to have the belt replaced, risking not too, will cause you major problems if something DOES go wrong, eg. bent valves etc.

Rather wait until your FWP is finished for "other" work

Just got mine done at Audi Sandton and as I aways leave my car there @7:00am it wasn't an issue the car was ready cleaned and polished by 17:00 same day.
Now if you are a new unfamiliar face to the service advisor they will tell you 2 days (or if they are overbooked and busy like Sandton) but with a little persistance they will accomodate you.
Courtesy cars from busy dealerships is very rare (unless you both your last S6 RS6 from them) the only courtesy cars I have driven were VW Beetle (new one) and Golf Chicco ;-( I know they never have anything on hand...unless you book the courtesy car 2 weeks in advance with the pretext that your wife is due to give birth on the chosen day Try it might work
