Your right and wrong....

Thierry and Des are committee members for KZN, not for the whole club.
Furthermore, from what I understand, the KZN chapter wants to dissociate themselves from the main club, so they can do their own thing without having to rely on the main club. Also, should we fail to find a new committee, and have to close the club, including this forum, they would not have to suffer from that.

Hi Thiery and Des

I do not believe there should not be much resistance if the head office moves to KZN and if you guys handle the forum from there.
Maybe, like some of the other clubs (DKW club for instance) we could have branches ie. West Rand on teir own, east Rand and every other area. That should also make it easier to have get togethers as each region can organize their own and we could visit each other.
If you go to Cars in South Africa you could get hold of Bertie du Plessis of the DKW club. They have been going for years and have a wonderful working formula that ensures harmony and success.

Kzn chapter and Forum

Hi TJ, and everbody else. We in KZN are a friendly close knitted family, we are not interested in politics or any other agro that is currently taking place in the main forum and ACSA JHB Chapter. We do our own thing down here and have a VERY good working relationship with our local dealers. Should u wish to see that we do, down in KZN, have a look at our local web site www.audisport.co.za and sniff around the KZN events page and our local forum. We have had 15 events since we became the KZN Chapter that's something like an event once a month and it gets supported very well by our members. Our KZN members and some JHB members are the guys that make this chapter so successful. If u look at the Margate event some JHB members even drove all the way down to Margate to enjoy the day with us. That is serious commitment by anybody's standard. The same goes for Harrismith.
This is a social club ----- enjoy it, don't rip the ring out of it ....

I don't want to start another "war of words" but that is our recipe for success. Enjoy the ride

Be safe

The guys at KZN Audi Club must be crazy to take on a ailing and thorn establishment........well it is because of i8 or TJ or my posts but we are divided as we can be but perhaps we need to turn the page over and learn something from the KZN folk.
1) No official Audi involvment ....but than the club has been around for 3 years and the trouble only started 2-3 months ago. There was no Audi SA involvment prior to that so the argument that the division here is to blame is not factual.
2)Posting here has been fun with vast knowledge to be sourced if needed so to kill the forum is a mistake but than again maybe a fresh new start is needed.....I can bet there will be a replacement for the forum within a month with so many enthusiasts we can let that disapear.
3) Club and by Club I understand organisational structure that promotes and sets up events. Perhaps a new structure or change in the current is needed as well.
4) Ban on all politics .....if the posts are informative and educational keeping us abreast (I like that word' of new developments in the industry than it should be OK. Even if posts of test articles stating that the M5 is better than the RS6 (I would feel bad if I spend R750k to know that there is a new king of the jungle yes) but than some folk must just accept the facts as they are.
5)One irritating thing in the past I felt is that the fellow with the newest or most expensive Audi should somehow know better and have more say than the other run of the mill folk. Truth is we all aspire to own S6's and RS6 but 95% of Audi's revenue is generated by the volume models so a guy owning A2 should have the same weight as the A8.
Well done to our brothers and sisters in Natal it is comendable but I know that one day soon they will drive up to JHB for our events.
Hallelujah

Come off it Vesco- no one has ever said that the guys driving the more expensive or bigger Audi's are those who has to know all and have the bigger say.
This is coming closer to the crux as it is starting to appear that because Andre and some other members drive rs6'S you guys who are not yet there feels that to be an issue. It becomes more clear as yoy do your postings. I am sure that neither Andre, myself or any other RS6 owner cares who are in charge.
I also did not buy ny RS6 to go around chasing Scoobies and BMW's but leave that games to yourself. I bought every Audi I have because I find it to be the better allrounder and unlike many here have driven from and E type Jag, Mustang Shelby, 745i, MB 560SEC and others and have enjoyed all those cars but still find my Audi the most satisfying of the bunch.
Evryone starts somewhere and from the little Citi Golf to the most expensive Audi should receive the same attention and service. It is the citi golfers of today that becomes the Audi drivers of tomorrow and I believe that everyone here should feel the same.
To leave you happy, this will be my last post, I will read postings when I find it interesting and you and 18 may have this for yourself.
KZN chapter I will look see on you site, but feel that a main structure such as the club should stay in place, irrespective where head office may be as you need a binding factor for all the members throughout SA. A H/O actually does not need to hold all the membership monies but should redistribute funds to those areas as per budget,

Lets not turn this into a war TJ I respect and appreciate Andre and your opinions. I just express a feeling I have been getting in the last 18 months I have posted here. No offense please.
I didn't mean to sound envious or anything we the new generation have a lot more opportunities than 30-40 years ago so after all how many 20 something were driving the cars we do nowadays. For most of the new guard there is a rapid progression into the so called exec market and if someone like me can consider (or afford) a S6 in my tender 27 years of age than it isn't ment as a nasty or envious comment just a view. Soon a lot of us can afford RS6's and the likes we just want to buy the best money can buy even if it is a diff. brand. The points is I listed few things that are shared by many I am convinced. TJ please don't run away from posting just because you feel insulted or blamed for something you did by defending the brand you love and adore. You as have knowledge I am sure we youngsters need.
So keep posting otherwise I will keep irritating you and you wont have a choice'

Hi All

As a 'non-member' member (urgh what am I saying), I respectfully request;
1.) That you recognise that even though we do not have a committee as such, the Jhb crowd STILL do have a club, in whatever form. We wouldnt be meeting this Saturday if we didnt (and yes, some of the ex-committee members will be there which is the way it should be), its really a case of getting that infrastructure back in place, which I am sure will happen. So stop talking as if it was history!
2.) Take political arguments offline to e-mail or telephonic/ personal dialogue and stop airing contentious issues for all to see. Its unproductive, reflects a story that is not necessarily the true pitcure, and unlikely to bring any resolution.
3.) Recognise that although there has been significant differing of opinion, that there are friendships shared in this club, even between those who vehemently disagree on this forum, and that is what makes the core of the club.

Lets meet this Saturday (sans those who are away) and have a good time, as always. Its about the passion we share, not always about who is right and wrong. This club WILL survive!

I feel like a kid whose parents are getting a DIVORCE....

AND an ugly one at that !
AND I'm forced to sit and listen to all their Insults and Blames !

I agree that we don't need this types of discussions on the Forum !

I don't even want to visit this forum anymore...

I agree with André that , audioworld.com, RS6.com, Audifans, RS4.or are all people that enjoy their cars and each others friendship and advice.

We have a few old ladies that should not be using our forum !
They should be standing in a Mall and shout insults at each other !

It was people like André, that, with his excellent reporting on Audi, convinced me to acquire my S6

Wow - really good way to try and keep everyone calm in the situation!! Lets be contructive rather than name calling? Or is it too late for that?

I am new to this forum and have noticed these "heated" threads, so I thought this would be a relevant point. I was out driving today and suddenly realised that JHB people are so stressed, to the point of aggression, that we all need to just pull back and chill out, including myself.....
