Yesterday afternoon, I was caught in that massive downpour whilst motoring down Ontdekkers Road. This road was absolutely treachorous and dangerous as the water in places was perhaps 15-20 cm deep and the rain was pelting down with absolute gusto (something out of the movie "Twister"?).
The S4 with its Quattro just treated these apocalyptic conditions with absolute grace, and all that was concerning was the way other cars and drivers handled the situation and the deafening sound of those raindrops and hail pelting the windcreen.
I even went as far as switching off the ESP for a while and the car still handled magnificently. It makes one wonder what sort of limits these wonderful cars can be pushed to.
IF all cars were built and engineered this way, how many fewer accidents and fatalities we would have on our roads today.
