well if you find a film based tint that can stop bullets you better patent it because you will own the market,
think about it. think how think and multi layer the banks got to make the windows to stop hand gun ammunition.
you do sometimes get a small caliber soft bullet that will shatter at the correct distance on a thick window under special conditions, this might be helped by a film keeping the window together but this is more a factor of the window that the .025 mm think film.

According to the guy's at SporTech and Defcon 1, this tint is indeed far superior to their own cheaper smash and grab tints. It apparently offers 100% bullet resistance from point blank range when applied to double glazed windows eg. Merc S-Class, Lexus LS430 etc. On the A4 however it will apparently stop bullets fired from more oblique angles. They both apparently have real-life testimonials to prove this. The tint apparently makes it extremely difficult for thieves to gain access through the windows and assists the curtain shield airbags in preventing obstacles from entering the vehicle windows during a rollover or side impact. Safety is critical for me and I would gladly fork out a few extra grand if it promises some additional protection for my family.
