Finally got to race one

Was driving home from work when I saw this Megane with a lot of stickers on it......one of them reading "165kw power punch"! So I just had to give him a "110kw" punch ;D ;D

Tailed him for a while then he caught on first he did a fast overtake manouver of a car infront of us.......he looked rather worried when the A3 was still right behind him ;D

As luck would have it we stop at a red robot....unfortunately I had to stop behind him Heart beating like mad I expected a tyre burning pull off but the guy pulled away slowly, I first felt like crying when I thought that maybe he is one of those racers that like to make you think he is not going to dice and then pull off like a maniac!

As I'm thinking this he floors the car.......so I persue trying to reduce the reaction gap he made in 1st, 2nd I'm gaining on him at a decent pace, 3rd overtaking him.......as I overtake he stops racing

He must be wondering why the hell his 165kw power rocket couldn't beat a "110kw" Audi

Needless to say I felt pretty chuffed with my car!

I recently had an encounter with the new Opel Astra GSi 2.0 turbo... boy it was a joke! The bloke was chasing me all over the show, I eventually had enough of him and gave some stick, he now probably wishes he bought an S3 instead.

Result S3 = 1 Opel = 0

Friday a huge, black Bentley (plate number "CGT GP")drove up next to me on Grayston Drive. The guy probably just wanted to show-off. My tiny S3 stands no chance in hell. Anyway, the guy pulled off like a rocket - I didn't even try, but it was great to see the accelaration on that car and the sound.

How does the RS6 match up to a Bentley (I think it was a Continental GT)?

Hi there,
Please help, the Astra GSi 5 door is in fact a 2.2lt normally aspirated vehicle, the 3 door OPC & the coupe are 2.0lt turbo.
I am not at all surprised you killed the GSi, I do however suspect that even the turbo's will be no match for an S3, untill the new OPC arrives that is.Apparantly 176KW.

As for the Bentley Continental GT it is a monster....no offence but is as different of league to the RS6 than the BM 740 is to a A3
Bentley is the lap of luxury with a 6 liter W12 engine(yes two V6 joint almost) around 550hp.O to 100 in 4.6sec and top speed of almost 320 km/h (unrestricted)
I think as far as speed is conserned from one robot to the next a Subaru STi should take it but it proves jack.
If I drove one I sure as hell won't be bothered even if a Cooper S thinks he is faster I would simply CRUISE in luxury all day.
The RS6 is more like Michael Douglas and De Niro into one smart sophisticated and brutal at times (on the right fuel that is) where as the Bentley is ....well picture Fabio and Schwartzineger into one.
Lets compare cars to people what about the A3 ?

I do however notice that no pricing is available on the website, also except for spec no idea re availability. I contacted a local Delta dealer who indicated late April early May 2005 ??

Perhaps it was a demo/test model.

The guy drove with me all the way from Vereeniging - he really drove fast and aggresive, till I eventually showed him

If I remember correctly he had no plates on it.

It was gold in colour, with definite red "turbo" written on the boot.

The car was too fast for a non-turbo.

The new Astra GSI 0 - 100 is about 8.3 not sure if it has been tested before but the OPC (unlike the coupe which is at 0 - 100 in 7 sec's) actually ranges from 6.6 to 7 sec's 0 - 100. Front wheel drive vehicles also dont lose speed as a result of 4WD. Off the mark the the S3's should be quicker, but be very careful when running against an OPC you will be suprised. I got nailed even though I was running 102 octane fuel in my S3. They are doing standard with 103 octane fuel between 15, 15.3 second quarter mile runs. My S3's quickest was 15.3 with 102 octane fuel... Just food for thought, S3 still looks much better though.! check out the Astra GSI specs (SA's OPC) on www.zlet.org.uk
