What is the fastest you have been on the roads here in South Africa? How about the female drivers? Well I know my sister should be joining in May when she receives her S4....

I don't think we should be sharing this you never know who reads the posts Quite franckly with the state of some of the highways and even worse the inability of a lot of people to drive makes driving in excess speed even in a safe vehicle a huge risk. I have seen a chap pushing his recycled paper troley in the middle of M1 highway.
Now that Trevor is putting more money towards the cops I guess we will see every second useless Metro official with a laser gun in one hand and a cellphone in the other while relaxing in the comfort of his BMW bought by us.
Should you insist I drove 140 in a 70 km zone yesterday and not proud of it.

well i know fo a certain TDI that did 224kmh computer reading, plus the same guy drove a C32 AMG to 255kmh true speed when the limiter kicked in, and a few years ago, he took a '95 model M3(turbo & NOS)...the ugliest looking one ever(had wings everywhere to keep the car down)...to 305kmh on the computer reading.
thats about it.

OK - Female drivers! My wife's done 290 km/h on the clock in her Porsche 944 Turbo S, which is probably like 270 - 275 km/h genuine. Unfortunately, it is also the fastest I have ever driven - the Porsche is just so aerodynamic!

RS6King you forgot the night when you took me and the GF out on the highway and did a 315km/h on the clock!
The fastest I drove myself was my S3 at 280km/h and the A3 at just over 260km/h. My A3 did a true speed of 244km/h as tested by RS6King's test equipment. I also took a E36 2 Door M3 to 278km/h on the onboard computer.

To whoever it was that nearly ran me off the road the other night in his S6/RS6(on the N1 just past the Marlboro off ramp), I say this to you, you have a very small brain and an even smaller willy, may you rot in hell you F...... SOB.
If I had managed to get your number plate I would have made sure that your car was taken away from you and that Buba makes you his personal girlfriend for a long time.
I don't give a hoot if people speed responsibly. (go to a lonely stretch of road at 3am and if there are other cars around, SLOW DOWN!!!)
Had I not managed to swerve out your way, the accident would have resulted in people being killed.
I just pray that the police and the courts start putting such drivers behind bars.
Just a note for all of you, I now carry my camera around with me, and am sending in photo's of vehicles that break the law to the traffic department. They cannot arrest you based on my evidence, but the information goes into a database, this information will then be used against you when the cops pull you off for an offence which they have witnessed. If there are repeated complaints and offences the cop can then arrest you.

Fastest I've been is 310km/h in a 993 GT2 Clubsport. Fastest I've driven is 260 odd in a 4-dr M3.
Just a note to audi5se - If you are caught using a camera whilst driving you will be fined as per using a cell phone. So your photos of law breakers might actually end up being used against you...

I’m sure your camera idea will work. They do not even have the man power to follow up warrants or outstanding fine. I honestly believe you are talking BS. I actually know some of the guys that worked/works on the system that they developed for the traffic department. They are not even close of merging the whole system nation wide.
All the high speeds I have done were late at night on a lonely highway.
Why don’t you start taking pictures of Taxi’s that is not road worthy? I reckon you mem card would be full every 20 mins’
Stop being a toss!!!

310 in a 996 Turbo on a runway speed trial.
260 km/h in a (very tall geared) Formula GTi on a straight stretch.
189 km/h in a MkII Golf GTi on the N1 to Parys. Only R1000 fine in those days. A week later the car got stolen.
Approx. 30 km/h in a golf cart on a downhill @ Wildcoast golf course. That was the most scary out of the above!

This speed thing disturbs me ... Myself, I like speed too, just like the next guy, I suppose.
In a reasonably safe car - and I think we can classify all new Audi's as "reasonably safe" it probably isn't a problem exeeding the 120 km/h speed limit on the open road, and push it towards 140; 160 km/h.
But chaps, the bottom line is: The faster you drive, the less time there is to respond to unforseen circumstances. And 230 - 250 km/h on SA roads is inviting trouble. In a RS6 you're probably not placing yourself at risk so much as you're putting others at risk!
Myself, though I like speed, must confess and say that if I push my car to (say) 180, I'd probably be so bloody nervous because (a) I'd be scared of those unforseen circumstances and (b) I might get caught.
One can only hope that all people with powerful cars will use this power in a responsible way.

Spoken like a true teacher..........hey Paul only kidding you have a point but then again human beigns constantly demand excitement....perhaps there is a link between not getting enough and speeding as I for one drive faster when the wife is away ))) LOL
PS/ The thread has gone from the trill & excitement of speed to critisizm to sexual frustration perhaps it gone too far and it must end here .

Citi Golf 1.8t 131kw . 230+ Off the clock it only goes to 220 and I was quite a bit past that. Problem is I run out of gears. Did it at mid day after a dyno tune at about 30 degrees on the n14 big open and empty : )
