Hi guys

Some of you have probably seen some of my posts whinging about my A4 1.8T Multitronic's lack of performance. Well, I'm afraid I still haven't solved it, and am hoping that your collective brain power may guide me. This weekend, I checked all the vacuum / induction hoses without signs of obvious damage / collapse, removed the MAF and cleaned it with a healthy dose of carb cleaner, and also pulled out the injectors and eyeballed them (they were clean). The cat was replaced about 2 months ago (was completely blocked). I'm now using BP insted of Engen / Sasol.

Air filter is relatively clean (but I did find a huge chunk of rubber, looked like a bump stop for a bonnet or similar) in the filter housing causing the element to become distorted, so that was fixed.

OB (Chip Logic) told me that the lambda sensors are faulty, but Audi Sandton insists they're fine. The last time I ran VAG-COM (about August 04, before the cat was replaced), there were no fault codes. However, although the car still goes (i.e. 140km/h isn't a problem), it just feels sluggish and as mentioned in previous posts I've even had Peugeot HDI's pull away easily.

Since there is nothing obviously wrong, I'm starting to think that either I'm imagining it, I'm just a lousy driver or there's something else I'm missing. Anyone with any ideas?

Have you tried it against other Audi A4 mutitronic. I suggest run it against another stock one and see how it goes. If there is a big difference then you know that you are not imagining it.

Would love to, just haven't found a willing volunteer yet!

Where about are you? Perhaps the next AGM meeting is a good option.

I'm based in Sandton. The AGM sounds like a good suggestion, hopefully my calendar will be open
