I'm looking for a turbo from a RS2, intake manifold and exhaust manifold. Does anybody know where I can get these goodies ?

You can try http://www.totsteile.ch/ (Click Audi-teile, then RS2). They sell second hand RS2 parts - they are in Switzerland and apparently not great with English, but meany people on S2forum have used them before. I see they sell the turbo for CHF 1000 (R5260) and the EM for CHF 700 (R3683), which is very reasonable. I also see they sell the RS2 Injectors (You will need them!) for CHF 600 (R3157).

If that does not work you can bu the manifolds new from www.vagparts.com and the turbo from Turbo Exchange locally.

I see Tots also sells new parts - they show the turbo, IM and EM as a package but without a price. Click Neuteile.

I would also love to do this upgrade. Can't help wondering if anybody in the Cape can do the labour though. The pricing is definitely starting to look good though.

Hi Craig

It is not really a very complicated job to replace the turbo, EM, IM and injectors. There must be somebody in Cape Town that would be able to do it - any decent mechanic would be able to do it!

The only problem is that you would need to have a remap done - there you have to speak to 20VT!

BTW - also budget for new gaskets, nuts, bolts and studs.

Hi Gandalf,

Thanks for the input. What do you think this upgrade would cost altogether, including the remap and labour?

Regards
Craig

@Craig - I am unsure of the transport cost. You would pay VAT @14% but no duty as these are engine parts. If we assume labour, transport cost and gaskets come in at R3000, and the remap at R5000, the total cost would be about R22,000. You would then have the exact same engine mods as Shane. You can then sell your EM, Injectors and turbo to cover some of the costs. Expensive but if you have ever been in Shane's car you will know it is worth it!

Mmmm...R22,000. Thats not as bad as I thought. Its a lot of money but then for what I'd be getting it'll be well worth it. Power with a remap should be well over 200kw.I think its time to start saving.

Thanks Gandalf

Ooops - Craig, I forgot about the RS2 Intercooler I would actually not bother with that. A larger intercooler gives more lag but you need more cooling. I would just install a Aquamist 1s system for R3000 - it will give more cooling than the RS2 IC but less lag. Totsteile charges R3150 for a second hand RS2 IC but it is a bulky item and will add a lot to transport costs.
