Audi Folks

Its been about two years since I was allowed to post here due to my fallout with the chairman and then committee during the chipwars. I do not bear a grudge, since what I had really wrote and said then, but was censored and banned, has largely proven to be correct and the isolation afforded me more time to work on my car.

Thanks to all who supported my return and thanks to all who fought for my right to post when the shirt was going down. Thanks to the banana boys for welcoming me to their forum in the recent past. I have posted quite a lot of lengthy stuff there. An earlier history thread is posted on the Vortex here:
http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1699698

Fond regards

Stuart

Thanks guys

Looks like none of the ou-manne are around anymore and the newbies, with the exception of you two don't or don't want to know me.

That's cool. I've been a loner so long that I am perfectly comfortable with it. The flustrating thing for me with this forum was not being allowed to post if and when I wanted to participate in some or other thread.

Copper clutch for the S3 is finished, downpipe is modified and ready and tomorrow the my Humpty Dumpty gets put together again. Next week I hope to complete the electronically actuated butterfly-valve controlled dump-pipe, which I believe is a world first in this position (on the first bend of the downpipe). When activated, the S3's downpipe will effectively be a 500cm long 63mm diameter exhaust. Can't wait to get to the mountain passes to open it up.

My photo host appears to have dumped me, so no pics at this stage.

Fond regards

Stuart

Hey Stu,

I don't know you personally, but have heard tons about your car.

On behalf of the committee welcome back and we hope you can make it to some of the Joburg meets to show us all that beast of yours.

Cheers

Welcome back Stuart! You will have your opinion on the best chip and I will have mine. But lets not awake a past dead beast. I’m not a man that keep any grudges and believe what happened in the past happened. It is the future now so happy posting and enjoy!

Let us know more about your project!

Any pics of the copper clutch? My past experience with copper clutches wasn’t that good.

Hello Guys

Thanks for the welcome.

Car almost ready today and AaaAarrrRrggGGg!, the new braided turbo coolant hose leaks at both crimps and worse, the exhaust manifold is cracked (I can weld it on the car for a little more service, but really don't want to replace it with the restrictive stock manifold).

So, any suggestions for a better non-restrictive replacement, one that will fit the K04 (I don't think I could handle the lag of big turbo but possibly a wee roller-bearing turbo, preferably with a standard downpipe flange would be tempting. Any and all suggestions appreciated.

I will pop some pics, but where to host? How do I access the yabb forum to host?

Regards

Stuart

Hi Guys

Have decided to stick with the K04 for the meantime, since it has always been my aim to determine what the potential is and I am still far from that goal. Standard exhaust manifold is adequate for the K04, so I will weld the leak and thermal-wrap the replacement in readiness for an opportunity to do the swop as it becomes either necessary or prudent to do so.

I really don't like the photo posting set-up on this forum (nor some of the company, for that matter), so I will post on the KZN forum where photo-posting is easier (and the company more to my liking - "what happened in the past happened" - my rrs.

See me mates on the KZN site.

Regards

Stuart
