Hey all car guru's out there,
I need advise on new Shocks I am about to need.
Should I stick to Audi OEM or change considering the following:
Car is lowered by Sportech using Eibach Pro Kit Springs and have been happy with ride...10000 km later the rear shocks are caput. Now I know should have gone for performance shox /springs combo but being the Scrudge I am I though well car is under FWP even if they go they will replace. Well they are due to be replaced but should I fork out for full set of decent Eibach,Koni or Bilsens....I am inclined to go with the Eibach Pro Damper seing it is same make as Springs.
Would there be a noticable advantage or save myself the bucks and get the OEM under FWP.
If changing all 4 with aftermarket ones what are the best and who to get them from ,where do I fit them surely Speedies is not the best ....lastly price range what am I to expect to pay.
Thanks for any feed back appreciated.

I don't think your shocks will be covered by the FWP as you have fitted non standard springs. They could argue the shocks have worn prematurely as a result.

If your dealer does change them tho ... let us know! I'll be taking my car there then

If you use lower springs, the first bit of the shocks movement is taken up by the lower springs. The shocks were designed to use the full movement as the first bit of movement is to make the ride more comfortable. If you get shocks matched to the springs, the handling and comfort should improve. But then good sports shocks like Bilstein and Koni are pretty expensive - but Bilstein at least (can't comment on Koni) last for ever ....

yes I know as far as FWP goes the Eibach as far as I understand is the only lowering that doesn't impair Audi warranty it is TUV approved and devoloped to worki in conjunktion with OEM equipment.Than again FWP is administered by Std.Bank and they can be a bunch or idi.ts at times.
A lot of Audi Dealers use Sportech/Eibach to lower the cars and you do not get your warranty revoked I know of people that have had it done from dealer.....perhaps a decent service consultant that knows you and is not sticky helps but regardless I have done a lot of research on the net and the Eibach Pro Damper shocks look like the ones to go for (Bilsein next best choice) the question remains where do I take the car to be fitted I might even order the stuff over the net it is around $350 for a set of Eibachs surely it is only hour or 2 fitment.
Ciao
