Last week, about 3 weeks after my 75k service (cam belt etc) I noticed a strange vibration through my clutch pedal. The clutch was not slipping or anything, but it felt like I could feel the engine vibration through the pedal when I put a slight bit of pressure on it. I immediately took it in to Audi the next morning where the workshop manager (Waldo) diagnosed a failing pressure plate.
They have since completely replaced the clutch, pressure plate and flywheel (all under FWP). This morning I got a call from a very puzzled Waldo saying they have finished the job - all with brand new parts etc but the vibration is still there. He is stumped and is going to call some of the other dealerships to get a second opinion. He will also check the work done one the cambelt, but does not think these are related as they are in completely different parts of the engine.
The car is a 2001 A31.8T. Anyone got any ideas?

I can tell u a story but i dont think that sort your pr.after replacing my clutch(pressure+clutchplate) in my s6 from about 3500rpm the whole car was vibrating like hell.after spending about a grand balancing the prop and keeping my car in the garage for about 3 months(i was too scared to use it and noone knew what was wrong)we decided to take out the clutch again and took it to a company in edenvale where they put the whole unit with flywheel on the machine and it showed that it was 26.5g out of balance.so we balanced it and that fixed my problem.
so guys if u ever replace clutch in s6 dont put it together without balancing it...

Ouch ... that sounds worrying! The problem I had was there BEFORE the clutch/flywheel was replaced though (and still there after the work was done).
But now I wonder if they balanced the flywheel (if that's necessary on my model). The cars been taken to an Audi aproved specialist today as the mechie's at the dealership are stumped.
