"Be careful."
Two simple words which most of us accept as concern for our well being. However, when the eyes are rolled in a sarcastic manner, or the hint of a condesending smile is visible on the lips, then these two words are meaningless.
[especially when one is going into the field in search of the creature we refer to as "Bigfoot".]
For many months now I've been too busy with work and in trying to rebuild my personal life to have posted anything on this or any other forum. My absence from this community wasn't planned...it just happened.
My job became more demanding [which required more of my personal attention, my personal life became a living nightmare [for those who don't know what I'm refering to, you can simple go back to a few posts and read what happened in my home] which has resulted in a friendly and civil seperation from my adopted family.
[I WILL BE MOVING TO PARIS, TEXAS, SOON. HOWEVER, LORRIE, HER DAUGHTERS AND THE TWINS WON'T.]
JD [my son and partner] has taken a new, much better paying job out of state; so he's now on a leave of absence from TBRI], his brother-in-law Brandon recently joined the US Army and is no longer active in the TBRI pursuit [we're proud of you Brandon]. Other team members have become scattered across the state, which leaves only Perry and myself. [And] Perry, like myself has a lot of irons in the fire.
...so, TBRI is now what Erik Beckjord once described as a one man operation. Well, so be it. TBRI never actively sought members, thus we never charged anyone to be a member and TBRI members have ALWAYS been able to come and go as they saw fit.
There were RUMORS that I had retired from the quest, and that I had become frightened that I couldn't get the job done. [I've smiled a lot about these remarks].
Actually I had thought about retiring until a very good friend at work told me I shouldn't quit if I enjoyed doing it. So, I rethought my decision and I've continued the quest away from the Internet and have actually been in the field. [alone much of the time, and thus some of the things I've seen and found will not be posted on this or other forums due to there being no witnesses.]
I have friends who tell me to "be careful", even though they do not accept the possibility of there actually being a species like the Sasquatch living among us.
[If they exist, then why hasn't one been captured or killed? Where's the HARD "scientific" evidence?]
Well, it's still "out there". However, for each of the eye rolls, and the condesending smiles I've recieved during the past several months, NONE of these people have accepted my invitation to go with me into site # 1 and look at the evidence which would be available.
They have refused the invitation to search the area while unseen, savage eyes observed their movements from within the shadows of the forest.
So, the next time someone tells you to be careful [be it guy or gal] when you leave to go into the field, and they roll their eyes a bit or smile that smile...call their bluff.
In closing I'd like to thank my best friend D.M. for her support and for simply being the best native CALIFORNIAN I've had the pleasure of knowing in a long time. See you at work kid.
Thanks for dropping by and take care
