Need to clarify

My post made it sound like I thought american dobes are worthless. American dobes are fantastic at what they are bred to be. An american Dobe is a loyal loving companion, who is beautiful, intelligent, and a great buddy. This dog may or may not protect you it doesnt realy matter, it may or may not be able to do schutzhund or someother protection sport again it doesnt realy matter.

What the working doberman crowd is striving for is a dog who is just as good a companion but is the real deal when it comes to the work to which the dog was originally bred for. Rays goals for his dogs just dont mesh with whats available from American lines, as he has progressed in his work he has used american lines less and less. These are just my opinions they may be wrong, I guess mr Carlisle could post what the truth is.
