Response to Joy of the bite / Joy of the fight

>>In Mondioring a dog needs a good balance of prey and defense and the training decoy will use these drives to obtain the "joy of the bite / fight". <<

Bob, many people on this and other lists have the opinion that fighting drive is a 'combination of prey and defensive drives'. I've always considered fighting drive to be a seperate behavior that can be stimulated through a combination of prey and defense work, but is a 'stand alone' drive that a dog can learn to use as it's primary drive in work. Is that true?

Erik.
