I recently read that in Mondio the dog is not allowed to be hit with the stick and the sport is criticized for it - ie. the dog is never stressed as in real life. But in real life its highly unlikely the dog will be hit by a stick anyway so I don't agree with that argument.

If true, why is it the dog is not allowed to be hit by the stick?
