Q - How difficult is it to take a Sleeve trained dog and get him on the suit?
A - Not difficult at all...
Q - In Mondio there are exercises where the dog must attack through an object. Like a water hose turned on or a stack of platic bottles or a decoy holding a palm branch in his hand. How does one train up to this and do dogs who have been extremely impressive in training suddently fall apart?
A - We start article training from puppy up. The article is always part of training the puppy or dog considers it normal. It's only when you introduce it suddenly and too hard where the dog becomes surprised and has problems. All training including articles are introduced in small increments, therefore when they are put together a Ring III routine is accomplished.
Q - There are quite a few sports out there that are pretty much interchangeable as far as rules and training with Modio. PSA. K9 pro sports, NAPD, etc. Have you seen these new sports in action and what do you think of the quality of the dogs and judging?
A - I have not had enough experience with these other sports to comment. I do feel Mondio is an excellent test of the dog and your training.
Q - Can Mondio be used as the corner stone of a breeding program, and what would the benefits be compared to a more conventional sport. Also any downside?
A - I am little biased, but I feel Mondioring is among the most comprehensive tests and therefore any breeding program would benefit. I don't see any down side because I feel you need the complete dog to play Mondioring. Social, environment, agility, speed, heart, courage, nerve, ability to think and react, ability to scent and there are more. If you have this then you may have something.
