Response to Paris for the weekend. |
| I second the Musée Rodin and I also really loved the Musée de l'Orangerie. The Musée de l'Orangerie is right near les Jardin des Tuileries and the Louvre so you can get it all done without running around too much. You can also get yourself a Nutella crepe for 3 Euro at the little kiosk right outside the Concorde metro.
We stayed at Hotel de la Bourdonnais- nice, clean, cheap, near the tower and a 2 min walk from metro École Militaire.
Go take a look at the Garnier and once you're there, walk down Avenue de l'Opéra to do a little shopping at Monoprix. (if you want to do more shopping, Galeries Lafayettes is right behind the Garnier)
If you're going to do the Centre Pompidou, walk around the Marais district for a bit. Have another Nutella crepe from a stand.
If you want to get up close to the Eiffel Tower, the tour of the sewers (seriously) is right near there and it was really interesting.
Cimetière du Père-Lachaise is also highly recommended. To get there the scenic way, take the bus (I think it was #69) instead of metro. The graves are hard to find but it was incredible to walk around. They give you free maps in the little office inside and we managed to pay our respects to Rossini, Poulenc, Edith Piaf and Jim Morrison.
That's all I can think of for now. Have fun!
