Voice Teacher and/or Coach and Language School in Italy????

I need to improve my Italian. I am applying for a grant to study in Italy for a year. In order to apply for the grant, I need to have a specific teacher or coach that I will study with in Italy and a language school where I will learn Italian.

I know it seems crazy to ask for teacher/coach recommendation on NFCS, but I need a place to start my research. The main object is to learn the language. Then maybe get some auditions and become a member of the EU.

Thanks for your ideas!

I think she's in Santa Cecilia in Rome.
She was a very good singer herself.
I heard she is a good teacher as well. What about doing a REnata Scotto program in Rome?

Renata Scotto is at Santa Cecilia, but it's not a language program. Mietta Sighele teaches in Riva del Garda. She also runs the Zandonai competition with her husband, Veriano Lucchetti, who also teaches. Mirella Freni also has a program in Vignola. However, these are all singing programs and not language programs. You may want to look into a separate language study program. There's one in Florence called the Istituto Italiano di Lingua e Cultura:http://www.istitutoitaliano.it/

Good luck!

She was a great singer. I heard recently from a reputable colleague that she is a very fine teacher. Worth a try! She is based in Milano.
