thanks for the responce I did a little research of my own after i read your anwser and found anoher picture of an MP 43/44 on the web by cutting and pasting the words "MP43/44 in Normandy"
in the search and i clicked on the first link and found a picture and a caption showing an Mp 44 in Normandy. Take a look for yourself to see if it's the same picture.
