Is this a likely scenerio? A Recon troop driving a schwimwagon is patroling a german town/village in the final months of the war they turn down a street and run into american infantry. the vehicle is shot at and hit the damage is a hole in the ratiator, shot out windshield and a flatened left front tire. The crew makes a 180 and heads for safety down the street they get away and stop a few blocks away to patch the ratiator and change the shot out tire. The infantry and a sherman tank appear and they are sent scurring away in a hurry and abandoning the vehicle, with the hood/trunk open, the engine steaming, and the tire half changed and much personal gear and a few weapons in front of the local winery. does this sound realistic and or accurate? Opinions please.
I also have a back up story and dio if this doesn't sound accurate then the story is the recon vehicle with shot out tire, Ect. lost control and crashed into a debris pile next to the winery and the crew ran away.
Thanks in advance:)

I thought the ratiator was only in water cooled engines and after i posted it i remembered the schwimwagon was air cooled. but is the rest minus ratiator possible?

It's a good start and it sounds like this could be a great little scene. Personally, I'd go with the back up idea, the schwimmwagen crashed into the winery. If I were being pursued by american infantry i don't think I would attempt to repair my vehicle with them coming down the street. I'd take my weapon and run. Here's some thoughts. You could do the scene with the crashed vehicle, and place a GI or two looking at after the Germans have gotten out of there. Leave some personal gear in the car, but I think the crew would take their weapons with them. Or you could have the Germans abandoning their car after it crashed. jaguar makes a set of Germans jumping out of Schwimmwagen that may work. Good luck with your project!

I like the scenario, but IIRC the Schwimmwagen had the engine mounted in the rear. The chance of the engine being hit without it's crew itself being hit while the enemy is in front, seems small.
Just my 2 cnts.
