"Oasis..."
The sun burst through the broken pane of glass in the bedroom around six-thirty a.m., as it had for several weeks. Amanda rolled over allowing the sun to warm
her face. Complete serenity flooded her being. She often wished her name was Serenity instead of the grounded earthy Amanda. This desire for identity shift was born of the need for spiritual peace. As of late, the world turned against our dark beauty...blood was evidently not enough. She bled profusely for her cause and the tears ran from deep w/ in her soul, spilling out of her dark eyes onto soft cheek, leaving a trail of sorrow that eventually threatened to drown her. But what was her misery? What was her sadness? Many would talk in low whispers, "her fault..." would time and again appear on the lips of others.
Amanda closed her eyes and whispered softly, "Take me...?" Her question was more of a statement w/ the hint of blue tint. Lately, the light surrounding her was semi blue-aqua. Gone were the days of rich amber hues falling quietly on her body. She was always awash in the warm glow of sunset...with a driving desire
for the next sunrise to occur. A broken optimist was the worst type. "No matter, all will work out..." were the words of a yesterday hued in fire red and warm amber.
It was true, amber hues had lost the day. Now the sense of blue-aqua permeated her inner self. The sun still shone brightly as she place the cool barrel of the .357 magnum against her soft brown wavy hair. Amanda drew a quick breath and laid directly in the amber-golden warmth of the sun on the bed pushing back
that blue tint from her being. In her mind, she turned to the left...walking out. "Oh, it's so dark, dark blue back there...," she aimed towards that warm golden
glow. Amanda smiled, letting the little white rays of light turn into a full spectrum colour wheel. Some where off in the distance, Amanda heard what sounded like a gunshot..."No matter, all will work out..." ran quietly through the great golden haze spread before her mind. She took another left, and that beautiful hue led her to an amber drenched oasis. Gone were her blues...covered over in a crimson red that glistened in the serenity of the warm golden sunshine. The blood ran silently, and slowly though her dark hair.
The sun shone brightly through the broken pane of glass in the bedroom. Somewhere off in the distance, the pleasant sound of children playing and laughing drifted slowly inside Amanda's bedroom. They ran and laughed in the warm rays of sunlight, catching bugs and dreaming quietly of their future. A tear ran silently down Amanda's soft cheek, and disappeared as it soaked into her fluffy white pillowcase.
