Well, hello there everybody. It has been a lllooooonnnngggg time since I've posted. Can't remember?
Tomorrow I start my part time job as crossing guard here in my town. This will be my third part time job. I also work Mon-Thurs 4-7 as a receptionist in a counseling practice and I work at maintaing the flower planters that line my towns street. We are still home schooling are two girls ages now 12.5 and 11 years old.
The 11 year old is the one that got me my title (briefly) of heart patient. Didn't seem brief at the time.
So that means it has been about 11 years since I met you fine folks.
Every December anniversity I remember what happened, but I also remember Jon's Place and of course the off shoot "ZOOO". So you have be premanatly placed in my memory bank.
I can't remember if I told you about my youngest daughters ordeal back in December 2004. She nearly died from encepholoitis. Peds ICU for 9 days and regular floor for 5. Christmas was celebrated in hospital.
But you'd never know she was unable to move and barely able to swollow.
Husband went for a got a position in his company so now he wouldn't be out in the elements. He is training new hires to his cable company.
I expect full updates when I come back again
Love and best wishes.
Jamie

We are fine here as well. Jack is stable which just means he is functional and not going downhill or up. No recent trips to club med......just a trip to the mid-west to see his folks in MO. In August no less where the temp & humidity sit about 100. He did take some extra days to recover from the trip but all is well.
I'm fine as well!
Tom ......your turn!

Glad you are back on line again. Hope you can check in frequently. I am not doing well. Still trying to recover from the bacteria I picked up during my last hospitalization.

We are in South Brevard County, the hardest hit county (so far)in Florida. We have received between 24-32 inches of rain within 24 hours. Fay will just not go away ! They are projecting perhaps another 10 inches today. My house is high & dry. My Bronco will not start. I had to borrow my neighbors truck and deliver a wet dry vac to the tenants of a rental house I own. It is flooded. Nothing else we can do until it drys out.
It could be worse !

Still feel awful ! But I can certainly feel bad at home better than in the hospital. I think I am improving. Just barely and only do those things which are absolutely essential.

A new pastor was visiting in the homes of his parishioners. At one house it seemed obvious that someone was at home, but no answer came to his repeated knocks at the door.
Therefore, he took out a business card and wrote "Revelation 3:20" on the back of it and stuck it in the door.
When the offering was processed the following Sunday, he found that his card had been returned. Added to it was this cryptic message, "Genesis 3:10."
Reaching for his Bible to check out the citation, he broke up in gales of laughter. Revelation 3:20 begins "Behold, I stand at the door and knock." Genesis 3:10 reads, "I heard your voice in the garden and I was afraid for I was naked."

I know you will feel better once you are home & not being poked & prodded all day & nite by the staff....they mean well but it sure makes it hard to get any decent rest!
Take it slow & steady!

I know when Jack's Mom came home from her last trip to club med she had rehab ladies come & have her do things like climb the staircase & lift objects.
Take care--------------> both of you two!

Sorry for the lack of activity on this list ! I have been dealing with a flare up of diverticulitis. Since Monday I have been on vacation at our local Club Med receiving IV antibiotics and giving the employees a "hard time".
This hospital has made slight improvements since my last visit. The employees are much more accommodating. However, the food is just as bad !They now have wireless internet access. Having my laptop makes the time go by much better.
till Later,

We have not heard from Sherrell and Jamie in a very long time. Perhaps with their new found health & occupations they no longer have the time nor desire to keep us posted.

I think forums/blogs/chat rooms take a very back seat when life is going on and we feel good enough to be 'out in the thick of it'.
The other point is it's nice outside so why be in front of the tube or computer ...I know thats whats going on with me! When the sun is out I have my hands in the dirt or the ponds......then most nites I'm too tired to do much more than read a few things then fall into a slumber......
hope you guys are doing well.....

My Dad lived in TN and he has had tornados all around him in years past & I get a little concerned...they don't even have a basement! I asked him once where in the house they would go...he said the bathroom.....for tornados. (sheesh)
Hurricanes would at least give some warning & weaken on landfall...
Stay safe!

This is our busy time of year and I don't always check the board. Just today we have had baby pheasants hatching & need our attention....last week it was ducklings.....
Glad John is doing well even if certain things are out of your hands/control.....life happens!
Jack talked to Jon recently and he is ok just having more trouble with his dexterity so the Heart forum has taken a back seat for now. His spirits are good!

Great to hear from you Jill ! Sounds as tho your menagerie is doing well. The arthritis in my back is giving me fits and I can barely move around.
Glad to hear that Jon is in good spirits. I realize it cannot be helped but his web site is becoming less relevant each day the board is down. I'm sure his contributions to the site have dropped substantially because of the lack of activity. O' well; life goes on......

I agree his readership drops when there isn't active posts. I'm sure the site itself still helps many as the information is there if your willing to look.
Do you take anything for your arthritis? It runs in my family and even I have it in my knees & hips and I'm sure lurking in other areas just waiting to show it's ugly head!
I sort-of detest docs & refuse to see them unless I really, really have to so I self medicate with asprin.
I'm the same with my migrane headaches...sleep & asprin ...all the drugs seem to have super side effects that I feel I'm better off just taking some down time & hybernating in a quiet dark room.

A couple of years ago when I had a bad flare up; I went to the Doctor. He may have prescribed muscle relaxers etc. He also sent me to physical rehab twice a week for 6 weeks.
He told me the best thing for it was to lose weight and get more exercise. Instead I have gained weight & do less exercise. :-0
I cannot afford rehab again even if I wanted to !
I take aspirin everyday. Since last week I have added Excedrin back & body (ibuprofen & buffered aspirin). It seemed to help some but you can only take it every 6 hours. This week it is less effective. Yesterday, I added Aleve (naproxen sodium). NSAID's such as Aleve, Advil are very dangerous drugs for heart patients.
Without some pain relief I am unable to move at all !
Aspirin is still the safest, most effective for me.

I wonder how the AC effects the arthritis as they say 'heat' on the joints helps. I know when my knees feel real bad I use a blanket or heating pad that seems to help.
I think I need stock in asprin!

I hope you have a good day with lots of chocolate & deviled eggs!
We are about 'eggd out' as the hens lay more than a dozen eggs a day and the ducks are not far behind with about 6 a day........They are great to cook with then we sell the rest.....otherwise we would both look like eggs!
Happy Spring to you too......

Happy Spring ? I was forced to run my AC a couple of nights earlier this week. Supposed to be back to 90 by Thursday. Not sure what happened to Spring. Perhaps it is the result of the early Easter ?

In rehab we had to take a shower 3 or 4 times a week in order to prove out compency in taking care of oureslves. These showers wer nakidd us vrses dressed thein. When i protested that fair was fair and lets reverse it once in a wild they protested loud and clear. I got vetoed. Talk about injustice.
Posted on Mar 9, 2008, 1:23 PM from IP address 71.253.242.138
At least you were able to shower. I was once in the heart section of the hospital. The Doctor went out of town without writing an order allowing me to shower. His fill-in failed to honor my request for him to do it as well. Finally, my PCP wrote the order after I told him that I was going to check my self out so that I could go home & shower ! <

One day they will be in a similar position so they will have their 'time' too!
Are you doing rehab/exersizes now? It's good for ya I say...even in small amounts......
I do knee stuff as I have "100 year old knees", well thats what Jack says anyway...LOL Some days they only feel 40.

Jill & I are still here. We are just waiting on you tell us what is going on in your life. Florida is still about the same. Some hot days and some a little more pleasant. Today, is what we call, "Chamber of Commerce Weather". Bright, sunny in the low 70 's.
