The tornadoes were north & west of me. Thus, all we received was some much needed rain. It has cooled off again after nearly setting a new record high earlier this week. I suspect that ya'll received some of the same weather system ?

In the hospital the relatives gathered in the waiting room, where their family member lay gravely ill.
Finally, the doctor came in looking tired and somber. 'I'm afraid I'm the bearer of bad news,' he said as he surveyed the worried faces. 'The only hope left for your loved one at this time is a brain transplant. It's an experimental procedure, semi-risky and you will have to pay for the brain yourselves.'
The family members sat silent as they absorbed the news. After a great length of time, someone asked, 'Well, how much does a brain cost?'
The Doctor quickly responded, '$25,000 for a male brain, and $3,000 for a female brain.'
The moment turned awkward. Men in the room tried not to smile, avoiding eye contact with the women, but some actually smirked. A man, unable to control his curiosity, blurted out the question everyone wanted to ask, 'Why is the male brain so much more?'
The doctor smiled at the childish innocence and said to the entire group, 'It's just standard pricing procedure. We have to mark down the price of the female brains, because they've actually been used.'

BOTH were spotted today on our property......the Bald Eagle has been around for a few days and the coyote was seen mid-afternnon eating something in the field. We spooked the coyote so maybe he will think twice before returning.

Jill, if a coyote found something to eat near your home; he/she will be back. Sometimes, even being hit with a load of bird shot is not enough to make him/her think twice before returning. They will return when you area asleep. They are quite intelligent scavengers. They have been imported into parts of Florida from the west and have become quite a nuisance.
Posted on Jan 20, 2007, 7:09 PM from IP address 68.18.41.226
Those darn coyotes will return! We hear them all the time in the middle of the night howling & such. We haven't seen them before but know they are here.
The guy who tends our fields & rents it for his cows was spreading 'chicken manure' and there are 'pieces & parts' the birds seem to be attractd to so I'm sure he smelled something good & came out for 'lunch' rather than their normal midnight feeding time!

Jill With the weather you are having out their lately
by John
It would be safe to say start knitting little caps for those BALD headed eagles to keep their little heads warm. As for those coyotes trap them and send them to Tom to feed those gaitors so they will stop eating the Florida locals and tourists. :+). And here the weather has been pretty good so far this winter.

A woman was leaving a convenience store with her
morning coffee when she noticed a most unusual
funeral procession approaching the nearby cemetery. A
long black hearse was followed by a second long black
hearse about 50 feet behind the first one. Behind the
second hearse was a solitary woman walking a pit bull
on a leash.
Behind her, a short distance back, were about 200 women
walking single file.
The woman couldn't stand her curiosity. She
respectfully approached the woman walking the dog and
said, "I am so sorry for your loss, and I know this
is a bad time to disturb you, but I've never seen a
funeral like this. Whose funeral is it?"
"My husband's."
"What happened to him?"
The woman replied, "My dog attacked and killed him."
She inquired further, "Well, who is in the second
hearse?"
The woman answered, "My mother-in-law. She was trying
to help my husband when the dog turned on her."
A poignant and thoughtful moment of silence passed
between the two women. "Can I borrow the dog?"
"Get in line."
~A Woman's Prayer
Dear Lord, I pray for Wisdom to understand a man, Love
to forgive him, and Patience for his moods. Because,
Lord, if I pray for Strength, I'll just beat him to
death.

What Would Jesus Drive?
Most people assume WWJD is for "What would Jesus do?" But the initials really stand for "What would Jesus drive?"
One theory is that Jesus would tool around in an old Plymouth because "the Bible says God drove Adam and Eve out of the Garden of Eden in a Fury."
But in Psalm 83, the Almighty clearly owns a Pontiac and a Geo. The passage urges the Lord to "pursue your enemies with your Tempest and terrify them with your Storm."
Perhaps God favors Dodge pickup trucks, because Moses' followers are warned not to go up a mountain "until the Ram's horn sounds a long blast."
Some scholars insist that Jesus drove a Honda but didn't like to talk about it. As proof, they cite a verse in St. John's gospel where Christ tells the crowd, "For I did not speak of my own Accord."
Meanwhile, Moses rode an old British motorcycle, as evidenced by a Bible passage declaring, "the roar of Moses' Triumph is heard in the hills."
Joshua drove a Triumph sports car with a hole in its muffler: "Joshua's Triumph was heard throughout the land." And, following the Master's lead, the Apostles car-pooled in a Honda: "The Apostles were in one Accord."

Tennessee is cooler in the mountains during the summer. Gets too cold for my very thin blood during the winter.

Other than alcohol, I think that deer cause more auto accidents than anything else each year in the US. Talking on cell phones may be catching up to it. <G>
If you recall how large the 1968 Pontiac Bonneville was; in 1969, a deer totaled my sister's while she was driving. Fortunately, she was wearing seat belts before it was mandatory. When it was over, the deer nor the auto could move under it's own power.

I was driving home from work one evening and a guy in the opposite lane with a 68 pontiac was towing a trailet with about a 18 foot inboard/outboard boat on it. he hadn't tied it down. because of heavy traffic he had to hit the breaks hard and said boat rolled up the front roller/bumper, up the truck deck and roof coming to rest as if he was cartopping the boat with the bow even with the front of the car. : )

I understand feeling low !! I go through spells of it and suspect most of us folks with CHF do also. Like with you; the month of November was financially a difficult one. However, I firmly believe that God will supply all of of needs. Perhaps not our desires, but definitely our needs !!
Please stay in contact with Jill & I. We both care about you and your well being. You may be surprised how much better it is sometimes, to share your burdens with your friends. If you want to contact me off this list my email is:

We are both fine. The storm was a little wild.....the house shook when the bad gusts came through......you heard them coming too! We lost power for only 2 hours.
A few things were blown around and some garage roofing is in the yard but other than that we're good! I did travel to Vancouver Friday and saw lots of damage.....many down trees in yards & along the freeway.......lots of firewood around now!

Glad to here that ya'll came through OK ! The folks in the NW are not generally accustomed to the high winds we are exposed to here on the coast. Being without electricity & internet makes me feel uncomfortable. At least our high winds generally occur during the warm weather rather than the cold. <G> Have a great weekend !!

I have DSL and it is too slow for most of the clips I receive. I generally have just stopped opening them. It takes 5 or 6 stops to complete. Would be impossible without high speed. DSL is about 1/2 the speed of cable. But then it also about half the expense. <G>

John, You should get your nephew to bring you some venison for your freezer. If the deer has not gotten heated up by running, the meat is better than beef. I wish I could get someone to bring me some. (:-{)

Then pack some in dry ice and ship it down to me. Let me store it in my freezer. That will free up some space for more in your freezer. <G> Jill & Jack might also appreciate such a care package for Christmas.

John, Like you, I am the ex-Hunter. If I were able to drive that far; I would have to run over the deer in order to acquire one. My days of hunting are long over. But thanks for the offer!

YES, we love the stuff! One of my girlfriends husband goes out hunting every year and has shared some of that tasty meat!
Not to long ago Jack's nephew in MO went hunting....bagged 2 deer then called his father to say...." I forgot how to dress them....can you come help" The limit there is 6....around here it's one.

Most places use FedEx and UPS for standard two-day and express overnight shipping.
How will my products be packaged?
Products arrive in our attractive gift box, packed in a sturdy reusable insulated cooler with plenty of dry ice to ensure the products remain frozen or chilled during shipment.
If someone asks what is inside just tell them steaks. <G>

Glad to see you all here. The girls and I stayed at the old farmhouse weekly till August then we started communting back and forth in September.
Then in late October we got to go into a "newer" intern house that was much nicer. I pleaded with the girls to live there for the remainder of the maze season and they agreed. The maze ended Nov.12 and it was the second best in the tens years that they have had it. SO I have been recommended to come back next year and run it again.
Come December it will be 9 years since the heart business first happend and I was blessed to have come out of that healthy and alive.
It wouldn't be till March when it will be the anniversity of meeting you folks via Jon's Place and I just want to say that you guys are still here. So much for the odds and numbers. Well done. Your families are blessed as are you all.
We are going to head up to Hyde Park NY tomorrow to visit the Vanderbilt Mansion and also go to the Franklin D. Roosevelt Home as well as Elanor's home at Val-Kill.
Stay well. Watch out for flu season.
Love,
Jamie

I do most of our cooking. My Dear Wife still works full time in order to support us. I must start the preparations today in order not to get too worn out. Today, I will bake some banana nut bread and cook collards. Tomorrow I will cut up the turkey, begin marinating the breast over night and boiling the dark meat to be used in the dressing and gravy. I get as much done as possible before Thursday.
Wishing ya'll the best !!
