Too many Lucid Dreams

November 3 2001 at 4:34 PM

I think it's possible to have too much of a good thing. I have very vivid dreams and couple of weeks ago I decided to try learn how to lucid dream. Well I've been quite successful, actually too successful, for the past week I've been having several lucid dreams a night. Not that I'm complaining it has been absolutely fantastic its just I wake up sleep deprived and heavy-headed from the nights action. Is there any way to calm it down a bit, every couple of days would be more manageable right now as I'm in the middle of exams at the moment. There have also been some weird physical symtoms prior to my lucid dreams- feelings of falling, spinning and pins and needles etc.

I was always wondering why some people have that great talent to LD. Actualy, when I was kid, my dreams were much more vivid, long, beautiful. Many of them were lucid (though I usually woke up).
I believe it depends on amount of some kind of "energy".
Just a thought.

Well I must first admit i've never LDed so frequently but I've seen a couple other people post with this sort of hyper-awareness.

For me anyway however, sleeping during an LD is as restful/unrestful as sleeping with non-LD. LDs differ in the fact that you often wake from them so sleep is interrupted. Another factor may be you feel you are "wasting" your LDs if you don't do some grand exciting things in them i.e less relaxing.

Both problems can be aided by a more relaxed viewpoint. Depending on the control you have in the dream, imagine a peaceful place. Don't take part in the action, just observe. Even if something amazing is taking place just step back from it and watch the dream play out. It's all a show.

In an unexperienced LDer this could very well lose them their lucidity. Even if it doesn't, it should make your sleep more restful.

Good Luck.

Later ------------- CloudHelmut

strange days

hey there evil amber.

A person with a gift, that most people on this forum are clawing their eyes out for. And your not even wanting it!! =) classic!!

I have had extreme lucid binges like you. Where my nights were filled with multiply LD's of good length. that would usually last a few weeks then slow down, to my normal one everyother night.
But I had a diffrent point of view. I think of those times as my purest yet, and very refreshed and happy physical me!
But I never achaived that sort of Lucid Activity until almost atleast a year of LDing. So maybe just your sudden burst was just to much for you to handle.

I have a cure that will help almost positively. If you do it.
Next time you are lucid. Contact you guide! wether you belive in guides or not. In your dreams, everything is there to help you, if you wish it so...
Ask your helper (whatever it may be) to help you and teach you about controlling your LDing experience. Your speacial and gifted and obviously need help to harness this power.

Now to feel refreshed and rested!
When lucid next. Goto this speacial garden I know of. It will be the most beautiful GREEN garden you ever seen. With shivvering colors you have never witnessed before. At the center of this garden will be a Grand Majestic Water Fountain. It will seem to be enveloped in a light green orb mist (the color of healing).
I want you to bathe in that water. It will refresh the core of your very soul. When you wake up that morning, it will be only beauty =)
feeling skeptic of this? You asked for help, im giving you real help...
It's easy to find this garden. Just your wish & will is easy enough to teleport you there. It exsist, trust me!

No. I was taught about it by an EXTREMLY experienced OBEr. But throught trying it out myself, I found out it is accesible through Lucid Dreaming also. Try it yourself, It exists. It didnt exist before you read this. But since you toke the time to read this.. Bickedy Bamm, to you its as real as T.V. =)
hehe, but that only imply's if your searching it out in a LD.
It's a much more real and constent place when having an OOBE. I dont think we should get into the OBE aspect of it too deeply. But can easily be experienced by any of you. Only when OBEing, You will find it near the center of the heaven, in the Green area. And when you arrive in that place you are instantly greeted by helpers and guides always on hand that make the bathing experience much more intense. (But of course in that green area the fountain aint all there is to it)
I'm not asking any of you to believe this. Their is no way to prove this. I only urge the willing to try for yourself's. And it will help you grow on your path to enlightenment. As will All these spiritual experiences.

Thanks to everyone for your responses. I will try out Child's and CloudHelmut's suggestions. It's not that I don't want LDs they offer a freedom you could never experience in the waking world. At any other time I would be grateful to be having so many LDs it is just I'm under a fair amount of stress with my exams at the moment. I think that's why my LDs are so prolific at the moment I'm not sleeping as well as I usually do and I am experiencing a different level of consciousness.

I have the same problem sometimes and have a cure for you! You can either wake up, or let the dream regain control of you. Strange as it seems, there is a talent to turn LDs into non-LDs. I know when I wake up from to many Lds, I have a headache. Do not worry though, you will go though dry spells without any LDs. There is a cycle at work here. Well for myself anyway. Lets here about some of your LDs.
