This is a brand new homebrew method of inducing WILDs. I came up with the idea after having a wild that i induced without knowing i did. I was listening to a burned cd of an original cd my friend had (sublime, yah!!) the cd had a string of about 5 songs I liked then a song which I found unexplainably irritating. Anyways on the day of the WILD i had ran home to avoid walking in a coming storm. When i finally got home i changed and layed on my bed relaxed my back. which was very tight and sore. Then i pulled out my head phones and pushed the play button and listened after a while that irritating song came on and I reached up and pushed the 'Next' button to skip the song.
but it didn't work the song was still playing. I had felt the button push in but the song remained. I realized i was dreaming with a thrill. The dream dissolved and I awoke, both arms far from the player. After that i invented the following method.
1. Lay in your bed and relaxe your body as well as possible.
2. Breath very deep, very slow breaths. Count your breaths.
3. After reaching 25 breaths calmly roll out of bed to your feet & do a reality check (try to fly, read, pass your hand through some thing) If possible choose something thats both quick and that isn't to rousing.
4. If the test fails then lay in bed again. Relaxe your body and breath/count to 50 and try again. If that fails then try again with 75 breaths, add 25 breaths each time you repeat. Eventually, you will be at like 150 breaths, you'll roll out of bed and will fail a reality test and realize you have entered a dream noticing it. Then you could spin a new dreamscape or explore your dream were you currently are. Thats it please give this method a try and sent some feedback my way.

hey thats a great idea. Im gonna try that. It works because you set this habit of doing a reality check in your mind. Im going to try it today and see what happens in fact i will try it from now on until i see results
I have had some problems doing RC's,
I can't get any feelings to it when
I ask myself If i'm dreaming, I just
take for granted that I really am awake.
So, I will try something different, instead
of asking myself if I'm dreaming I'm gonna
ask myself what 7*6, 4*14 is and so on, since I'm
very bad at math I really have to think before
comming up with an answer, that way I believe
I will wake up inside a dream, cause I really
have to bring my concious up to answer any math
problems, after each problem solved I'll look
at my hands.
However, I believe more in the method presented in
the first post.
a month or so ago i lay on my bed, listenin to my minidisc player, and also thinking about a friend id promised to talk to on msn later, and started thinking about what id talk about to her.... id been imagining sitting at my comp, waiting for her to come online.. and then the little '... has signed in' message came up in the corner, as real as it would b if it happened right now. It was then that i realised i was startin to dream, but iv got an awful habbit of automatically thinking 'this isnt real' and waking myself up, when i realise im dreaming that soon (and of the other 2 times iv realised iv dreaming, its been similar to this)
so iv tried the minidisc thing again, but i either fall asleep if im too tired or i end up not being able to sleep, i just think that maybe the music is keeping me awake if im not tired enough to sleep

This happens to mee too, whenever I start drifting off I jolt back to reality.....really annoying. Think a solution is to pay more attention to the hypnagogic imagery, so that you are aware of the fact that you're drifting off. Thus you won't suddenly realize that you're dreaming, but will be able to go with the flow.....just a thought
Guys thanks for responding to my post. I was thinking last night that some people would have problems with my current method let me explain myself. For starters I'm a deep sleeper and have no trouble getting back to sleep after i get up. So rolling out of bed dosn't really wake me up so I fall asleep much fast then most people when using this method. If you are a light to medeium sleeper and you are having trouble (example: getting to 475 breaths and are still wide awake) than try this.
1. Lay down relaxe your entire body.
2. Focus on your deep stomach breathing and count your breaths.
3. After reaching 25, 50, whatever number your on focus on your body and imagine that a powerful tingle is flowing through you and then think, "I'm getting so light am going to float right off this bed." If you feel yourself floating don't continue your breathing/counting just imagine you are floating over a different scene like a field of grass on a sunny day and if you find your self smelling grass or feeling sun then open your eyes your dreaming. If you fail then just start counting again.
Well if you are having trouble with the method its probably that and remember the idea for this method is that you fall asleep with a task of a lucid dream, of doing reality checks every 10-15 mins. So it probably won't work the first time because you subconsious dosn't understand yet and won't remember the task after you enter the dream state. So It could take a while before you subconsious begains to carry it over. But after it does WIlDs and lucid dreams will be easily produced at will. at least thats what im hoping. If you want before you sleep imagine a conversation with your subconsious. Say hello and imagine it greeting you in return. Then ask it about a normal dream you have recently had and say, "you knew we were dreaming and you did tell me. why?" Then imagine your subconsious say,"i didn't know you wanted to know about that." then say, " thats okay but in the future let me know when we're dreaming okay?" then imagine your subconsious say the he'll try then say goodbye. this will help you send the message to your subconsious. well thats it.
Not a good one for me. Counting and breathing seems unnecessary. A good idea for sure, but let me tell you of a better one, for myself anyway. Read this forum about a hour before you go to bed every night, for the next month, will help induce LDs. Since on this forum my LDs have tripled using this method. Just trying to help realistic teaching.
I just found out about lds about 4 hours ago and have been reading this site since(about 2 hours of that time have been spent reading this forum). I will try that technique tonight. i hope it works! i remember dreams quite well and usually "know" im dreaming but i can never control anything. i just am half-aware im asleep but never do anything about it. ::yawns and turns computer off then walks off to naptime::
I have not heard words come out of this mans mouth that are more true then these ones. This is in fact one of the best ways of inducing lucid dreams. I read the board every day for hours, and have had 5 lucid dreams in 22 days.
It might not work for anyone though, Alasken is an avid reader of the forum, and has not been able to have a lucid dream. "Poor guy". Good luck man, hope you have one soon
Although I don't feel the need to directly comment, I really enjoyed the information as well as everyone's response. There seems to be much positive energy on this thread, and I only wish to keep this up.
So good luck to everyone, I hope you all can overcome in the face of adversity.
I just woke up from a dream, although i wasn't totally lucid,i had one of those where you realize you have powers. I raced someone fling and in the end before i woke up i demonstrated power by punching through a wall but not breaking it.
No, I haven't had an LD yet......but I don't think this method is something for me. I could never fall asleep while counting my breaths. I'm making progress now anyway, been dreaming about talking to people about being lucid and stuff. I've also had a couple of dreams about reading this forum and talking in the chatroom.......
ĘSo, hopefully I will have my first proper LD ( have had a low-level ) sharpish....
