i just thought a bit and philosophized a bit around.
what controlls our dreams if we don't do?
that question raised in me because of reading the funny post with the club and the silly dancers. in the middle he seemed to have lost control.
the first thought on that was "if somebody loses control of the dream who is controlling it then?"
(please ignore the ones you don't believe in in the following list ...like god or the spirit guide.. i don't want arguing people in this thread)
is it our subconcious?
our alter ego?
god? (or satan when nightmare)
some other lucid dreamer whose dream we are inside?
our spirit guide?
influences from outside while dreaming?
influences throughout the day(s) before?
memories?
our future?
the state of mind of the ones we love?
people on the oter side of the globe wich are awake?
...ok i'm out of more items.. and leaving the track anyway...
well if you'd please tell me in wich ones of the things listed above you could believe in ...or add the ones you could think of that i forgot.
I think of it as if you don't control it then the state does. Freud says repression is necessary for people to function in society. I see it a bit different, I think it is necessary for society to produce repression so people are unthinkingly obedient (non-lucid waking). This society requires people with a broken connection to their dream world so that this power is taken over by the state. All the noise and pollution and junk food and ugliness stops me from getting the concentration I need for lucid waking, never mind lucid dreaming. I think of this consciousness-destroying environment as a collective unconscious of the destructive side of society. Unfortunately it seems to be dominant at the moment, maybe because the creative side is accepting rather than dominating.
