Marijuana doesn't affect my LD's. Had 3 LDs in 3 nights.

I use to think that when I would smoke before I went to bed it would hinder my attempts at lucidity. The past 3 nights lucid dreams have just happened with little or no effort. Dreams and studying dreams is like a hobby to me and working on my dream website keeps the topic of dreams always perking in my head. I haven't smoked nearly as much as I usually do this month but the past week I've smoked nightly. Before, I use to think that weed would make it harder to remember dreams and even more LUCID dreams. But not this time. It seems the last 3 nights I've smoked before bed I would have at least 1 lucid dream each night. Some days though I would wake up and go about my day until something reminds me that I had a LD the night before. Each time I would be suprised and think "Wow! I had another lucid dream last night." Which reassures me that I have had many lucid dreams which I can't recall while I'm awake. Which I bet a lot of people do. What I want to do now is have an "out of body" experince. Does anyone have a simple technique to achive an OBE after you are in a LD? I'm suspecting that I too may have had an OBE before, it's just that it's harder to recall while I'm in waking consciousness. To tell you the truth recent dreams are becoming similar to reality and seem to have a reality of there own. When I'm awake I make of list of things I should do the next time I'm lucid. BUT, when I'm fully lucid I still seem to forget to do whats on my list. I want FULL awareness and I think an OBE would give me the FULL consciousness that I want in this altered realm. Does anyone get to explore their dreams with the full consciousness of waking reality? I have remembered to try to achieve an OBE when I'm lucid but this is what I do. I try to relax and imgine myself becoming light and floating up. Shortly after this I have a dual consciousness where I feel and see my dream world still but I start to become aware of my sleeping body in bed. It feels like I'm about to wake up. I continue to relax and imagine floating but eventually sounds of the "assumed" physical worlds start to creep in like my computer fan or air conditioner. I then lose my dream and just lie there in bed not moving so I'll quickly fall back to sleep. Later when I actually wake up for the day I think back in disappointment in how I wasted a LD for my attempt at an OBE. Am I going about this right? I only experienced vibrations about twice long ago. I've heard "Whoooshing" noise before as I slowly woke up through this type of experience. What can I do to take this next short step into an OBE? Do you think marijuana effects OBEs in + or - ways? I'm so happy with my LDs but I'm becoming teased with short patchy memories of these fascinating experiences. I want to be able to play them back in Dolby surround sound.

Jump up faster.

Hi Dream Addict,

When you 'float' up in your LD in an attempt to OBE, instead try to 'zoom' up. Do this by jumping or imagining you have a rocket pack on for a while. It's the quickness of the transition from LD to OBE that's key as it minimises any time to be thinking about the physical world (another aspect of this technique is to focus concentration on the new tactile sensations of the obe - one arm out of synch with the physical).

This works for me about 90% - when it goes awry, it's usually due to loud noises coming through the window (so keep it shut!)

Best of luck,
Dave.
