Wierd,bizarre call it what you may. Two weeks till Rosicrucian initiation. You know all those films like "The devil rides out" and those hammer house of horror films with anything about evil and stuff in them? Well they got all their imagery from the Rosy Cross, not that we are actually Evil, just that it used to be the case that anything that was not Christian must be Evil. So anyway, Crowley was this Rosicrucian, a member of the Golden Dawn, and I am in AMORC because the Golden Dawn no longer exists but believe you me, if the true organisation was around today I would be in it. So I am about to go through the initiation... ritual magick thingy... gonna be amazing I guess.
I know what you mean though by the organised Religion.
They impose their way of thinking on you, have a great big load of dogma you have to follow and a set of rules etc. The Rosy Cross aint like that at all. They just tell you stuff and you make up your own mind. Course we do ritual and what not, but that's to open up pathways in your mind... it's really a scientific thing that's somewhat hard to explain to the uninitiated. I feel like I have always been Rosicrucian, and always will be. I love it.
Course, like most things it's not what it is supposed to be.
The Ancient and Mystical Order of the Rosy Cross is the biggest Rosicrucian organisation in the world. The reason that hardly anyone knows about us is that there are not many of us and there never have been, yet we have been around since the dawn of time. Famous Rosicrucians include Sir Isaac Newton, Paracelcus, Beethoven, Leonardo Da Vinci, Nostradamus, S.L MacGregor Mathers, Dion Fortune, Crowley (of course),and many others. We are the ancient alchemists of old, who could with the aid of the philosophers stone, turn lead into gold, we are advisors, we are wizards, we are magicians, we are hermits etc. Where do you think they got the image of the wizard from eh? With the white beard and the hair and everything... that was from the Rosy Cross as well, all of that imagery. We know stuff and most of us keep quiet about it all. I couldn't begin to tell you the stuff we do and what we know, cause it is all secret knowledge that you could easily find out if you were part of it and were curious enough. Many advancements in science were because of Rosicrucians. I could name a couple of American Presidents as well who were in it. Abraham Lincoln... Thomas Jefferson... I could go on forever....
