There were three things upon awakenig...a pedestrian subway which began to fill with water (someone said the water-table had risen). A walkway along a steep slope (someway down), it had buckled and was "hair-pinned" instead of being the usual level; a rope was being attached for people to hold onto ut apart fromone young woman no-one would risk it. Thirdly, a series of steps leading down to "safety" but as you placed your weight upon the top few steps they sank underfoot having the texture of "turkish-delight", not to be trusted.
