Once that the 4th member of the sequence is passed, all subsequent members are divisible by both 5 and 2 so they must end in zero. Hence the changing of the increment from 1 to 10. There is no deception here.
As for Clippy, I don't know what his objection was. He just blurted out without explaining himself. I find that a little childish, so I treated him in kind.
