Quick question on malformed expressions/equations
Posted May 21, 2011 6:16 PM
Is it necessary to determine whether the equation is not ill-formed?
For example, someone might accidentally enter "4p+p-5.5=10+2p/3-1/". Should it be handled by the program (redo from start) or silently ignored as a superfluous character (remove it from the string)?
What about something completely malformed on purpose like "/-+*"? Or should things just be kept simple and assume there is no error?
