Well, for the record:
I disagree with you all that the WWE spot was political pandering. I think it was something they did in good humor and in a spirit of fun.
I agree with Mari that Dan's initial reaction was condescending, pointless, and offer no "value-added" to the conversation, and that her response was appropriate given the context.
I agree with Eric that women cannot normally involve themselves in intellectual conversation the way guys can, but I stipulate that Mari is an exception.
And finally, I agree with Dan that we should use a normal post convention for the sake of clarity.
