Hi,

I've been looking for a good school to start learning how to fence for a very long time. Unfortunately, the one I found is all the way in Mount Prospect (very far from where I live). Do you know of any schools in Chicago that are reliable, competitive, and have great teachers?

Hi Zarah,

You might look on the following site:

http://www.kmoser.com/classicalfencing.htm

There is a list of schools all over the nation, including the following listing for Illinois:

Illinois
[I] Mark Rector -- Chicago, IL. Phone (773) 276-9425, mail 2657 W. Medill, Chicago, IL 60647. Classical fencing: foil, epee, and sabre; historical swordsmanship: rapier, rapier & dagger, cut & thrust sword, broadsword, long sword, quarter-staff

Kim Moser, who runs the classicalfencing site, may know more about Rector and his program and may know of other possibilities in your area.

Good luck!

Jim
