Response to Why Malaysia has PNG at its knees!!!!!! |
| Anon, your name said it all.. you have been a tea boy of aussies for the last 30 years what do you see over the past 30 years in png? When your first computerized documents in 1986 Malaysia is still using typewriters. Today Malaysia has moved forward cos it executes and implement its plans the right way. Tea boy is a very sad term to be used, cos in order to develop, few other things come into play in which economic trade and political relationship becomes the core. Other countries where you are closed to has to be benefited out of your development but not developed out of your resources and leave you behind as how I see now (aussie has been back putting you for the last 30 years)
Its only 23 or so years since the Malaysian government has been actively embarked on the implementation of their economic policy but one could see the difference today. Their rapid development doesn’t mean that no country gets economical benefit out of their resources. US, UK JAPAN even AUSSIE (among those hugely benefited)has benefited from their resources immensely.
Malaysia has offered PNG a lot (since the reign of Dr. Mahathir to his last offical state visit to png) including technical training in all governmental and non governmental sectors. Imagine you undertake four or five years training and then you run your own governmental or non governmental sectors rather than having other expatriates running all those in the name of expertise (as though we could not be trained to run it our selves). Sometimes I don’t think it’s a bad idea that, if your boss gets richer and he pulls you up with him and makes you a master of your own destiny after 20 years.
I believe we need to look closely at our policies in order to safe ourselves if we do not want to be tea boy for any one for the next 50 years.. put your priorities right and think properly…lets talk on the same length and weight of words that would show the true help and cooperation that countries could exert between each other to help develop one another.
Dont see it as a tea boy but as something that you could benefit of.
Thanks
Ralf
