i suggest you go to singapore changi airport for 24 hours and shop all you want right there at the airport duty free shops.
no visa required if you transiting only out there.
yuou can sleep in the terminal while waiting for your next flight back home.
you will be entitle to two free tours in to town to see the colonial land mark and the famous merlion or the caltural center. get all the information from the many infomation desk at changi terminal.
i have done that 3 times already.
and when you come back .... our emigration officers at jacksons international airports will not check your stuff and ask you to pay custom duty. if you suspect they will , then id advice you remove every new electronics from their packets and throw away the new manual. better still hang em arround your neck to make them believe you returning with the same things... oh and dont declare your purchase when the flight attendent hand your the form inflight.
if you heading to manilla, bankok, colombo, india, or malaysia then be carefull with the taxi fares, they have one button for foreigners, one for locals and one flat rate if you bargain. oh the hotels also have the same, they have two registration forms, one for foreigners and the other for their nationals.
