One thing is clear. John Gotti is not forgotten (as can be seen by the visits to this site) and it doesn't seem that he will be anytime in the near future. So, not talking about him, not having a forum about him will not change anything. In fact, to some he will always remain a sorely missed hero. Through the years, he took the persona of a victim of circumstance, or martyr. That is, the circumstance of being Italian! Whether one is willing to admit to it or not, this outlook has a basis of truth to it. Secluding one to nearly a decade of time in a super-max security penitentiary meant only as a transitory facility is in every respect, unjust and inhumane. This particular injustice is one that remains unexplained and shall most likely remain a subject untouched by the government - especially that John has now passed away. The blatant truth is that there was no change in John's situation while he was in prison. He remained at Marion for years, reportedly in ill health. Unfortunately, when Gotti supporters and foes gathered, they were only able to battle through ineffective, irresolute, sometimes illogical, arguments regarding his innocence. It was our hope that through this site and our forum, we could establish an argument for John's conditions and not his guilt, which had already been proven and re-affirmed in the court of law. Now, that John is dead, our only mission is to inform the public of John's years in federal custody. And as for your faith and dependence with the US Constitution (throwing the "freedom of speech" in our faces), I'll leave you with a quote as a response...
The government was deliberately out to convict John Gotti at all costs and the government threw the Constitution out the window.
