The ability to analyse multilateral news and latent events to synthesise a coherent thesis escapes many; in the end we have a cadre of persons only able to view life in one dimension- me, myself and I. Pursuant to this, we have wasted spatio-temporal utilities of nature that would have gone way far in making this world a better place for you and me.
Take the situation in Zimbabwe for instance. The highest army commander who also happens to be the husband of the Vice President is murdered just because he has the guts to stand up to god mugabe. Track back to a Kenya of 1990s when strongman Moi welded more power than many leaders of the developed world, yet men with balls stood up to him and eventually brought him to his heels. The fast forwatd to 2011 when a woman-on-woman violence sees a power broker flashing a gun at a security guard. And then we just imagine a runguman yet under radar but still the face of security in a multimillion pounds facility.
Parallels can be drawn here with Ahab the King of Isreal and Jezebel his wife. And another of the religious leaders who whipped agry masses against Christ crying- "Crucify Him". Or another of misguided Kenyans frothing "No XYZ, No Kenya".
You and I and Obama and Osama are just at par when it comes to being, although we are just a slip better than wild beast and trees. We are all straw, soon to dry up and be cut down. No Raila no Peace or No Kenyatta no Kenya or No me no life...
The leaders we assume are gods are just strawmen and can not stand on their own were it not for us holding them up. And these leaders are only leaders today because they had godfathers before them. If there was no Jomo Kenyatta, may be the Idea would be languishing in Korogocho banging metals plates into jikos. If there was no Jaramogi, may be the "... No peace" would be flyfishing for catfish down the Yala. And so for every politician who forgets that he is just very mortal and still whips us into a fever to hate peoples who are not of our ethnicity and thus threatening such politicians' chances for election.
Until we reject our straw nature and embrace spirituality that soars above the shallow reasoning that is no fairer than a gnats, we are all straw, worth nothing even to ourselves. It is only via shedding the dead brain reasonoing of village idiots that we can redeem ourselves and our country so that we can stand in podiums with the wise and informed of this world. And only then can we accept the station that God has placed us in. |
