Eli-

So Oxfam has launched a $15m dollar appeal to feed the starving people of E/Africa..http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/8279796.stm
This includes thousands of Kenyans who go to bed daily without ration of food and water as their Gov proves to be as useless as usual.

And while famine is raging,Kenyan president is sending lame letters of protest to W/House instead of letters seeking and as usual begging help. He is more concerned with few individuals not being able to globe-trot, than thousands of Kenyans facing imminent death!

So once more, the demonized people in the west, will be bombarded with requests, to dig deep in their pockets and folk out to help feed the starving people. It has indeed become a recurrent theme, that after a season or two without proper rain, starvation and death rears its ugly face of havoc to attention of international scale & spectacle .

But does it need be such ? Its utter irony that when people are dying for lack of food and water in some parts of Kenya due to failing rains, others are literally overwhelmed by rain...

So the question is not about rain but Governance .When will Kenyan Gov learn the simple lesson of food sufficiency ? Rain in eastern and northern parts Kenya will always fail ...but that should never be reason of people to die of hunger.

But as long as we have out of touch Gov, which is of the few at the expense of the many, such spectacle will always be.
