With all due respect to the late Bob Nester Marley, arguably one of the most talented artists of the 20th century, I would like to state that the ORIGINAL "Hotel California" song was written by Don Felder, Don Henley and Glenn Frey (pictured below), all of the rock group, 'Eagles' and was released as a single in 1977 and later included in their album 'Hotel California' of the same year. Bob Marley later did a cover for the same song (around 1980, I suppose).

It all depends on what genre of music you like, but even as a fan of Bob Marley myself, I still think no one hit it as good as the guys that wrote that song. The way Eagles play those guitars is just wicked, plus I think it's an achievement to write poetic lyrics that literary scholars still discuss and argue upon 3 decades later.
