I thought ones you get biometric data done the first time then you dont have to get it done again when you renew visa. I got mine taken 6 months ago and got my visa ok. I sent my visa extension form 3 weeks ago and today got a letter saying i should book a biometric appointment. Does it have to be done each time you renew your visa ama have they made a mistake to ask me to go and have it done again?

Nothing to worry. They just want to verify you are the same person who you say you are when you applied for your first visa.
