Raod accidents in Kenya - very sad indeed!April 22 2012 at 6:37 PM
The number of Kenyans dying on our roads and the aftermath is unbearable. Day in day out parents are maimed or worse killed, children orphaned and hospitals resources drained while treating accidents patients. The same sad scenario is replicated in the diaspora. Road safety is each one of us responsibility.
There are several reasons why more Kenyans die on the roads than is expected. Kenyan driving schools are agents of corruption. Most Kenyan drivers bribe for their driving licences at the same time drivers get licenses endorsed with categories they never trained on.
Again our drink driving is a cause for concern. We have let ourselves down. We allow maniacs carry us and enjoy when they over speed while putting our lives at risk.
Something must be done. Anyone out there who feels like me should join hands and let us campaign for safe roads and safe driving for our people.
